  1. So you think this could be a good choice or would you go with the desktop?

Unless you're planning on taking it with you elsewhere, desktops will always be better value and quality for the price.

What country are you in? (need to know for a more localized pricing of the components)

  2. Ok, I assume you know that for a fact, my general point was there is already materials which can replace oil.

So I am sure we will be fine.

Yeah, I did a study of the issue for one of my English papers... Got an A+, and caused most of the "Oil Problems" posters to come down from the on-campus billboards...

Oil has had a backup for all of it's uses since before gasoline powered engines came out, it's just that it requires a greater variety of materials (not usually price or time) to produce the products when you aren't using oil. (thereby spreading the wealth among several dozen companies instead of just one)

  3. I don't think I can ruin my reputation... I never post anything that anyone takes seriously. (except a few in the debate threads)

The only thing I can think of to say would probly be deleted, even in this sort of thread, since it involves describing the sniping out of existence of multiple government branches in explicit detail. (followed closely by a ban too probly)

  4. Hey, if that happens, Sony will compensate me, I'm sure. If they didn't, well, I know a lawyer.

Good luck with ever repairing your credit score then... Don't expect to ever be able to buy a car for sticker price again, or get any decent payment plans for anything.

  5. Ah well, I currently have 8 dollars in my checking account.

For once my brokeness comes in handy.

That doesn't stop your identity from being stolen, or your account from being overdrawn... And if they steal your identity you could end up with bills for credit cards you never got, usually in the $10k-$30k range. (the CC companies won't care that your identity was stolen, they'll do anything within their power to get you to pay them that money, including garnishing your wages)

  6. Thanks for the list, I have one question. What do you think of using the CPU + Motherboard native video capabilities on this combination?

Intel CPU Core i5-2500 3.30 GHz Box (1155)

    Asus M/B Intel P8H67-M LX B3 A/L/V (1155)

I read some reviews that said the performance was very impressive, with no extra video card cost.

Never use integrated video unless you want only to browse the internet!

Get a dedicated card if you ever want to be able to play modern games at above 15 FPS on minimum settings.

  7. Okay, let's use the classic example of the finches studied by Charles Darwin. Finches were surveyed on many different islands of the Galapagos, and each species' beak was adapted to the food source that was readily available.

This logically points to a divergence of species as seperate populations formed on the different islands. Beneficial mutations eventually occurred that made it more likely for mutated finches to reproduce, thus leading to evolution via natural selection.

Oh, and if you can't rely on theoretical logic, then you must not believe that 500 + 19 = 519 without counting out stones in separate piles, then counting the sum. You can't just rely on the theoretical logic of math after all.

First off, only certain types of math are theoretical, adding/subtracting/multiplying/dividing is not among the theoretical types.

Second, it may seem logical to you, but that doesn't mean that that is what the truth is. There is no PROOF that the differences were caused by mutations, or any other genetic alterations.

    See above^

    Same to you.

You can't equate my "beliefs" in the same way, because mine are based on proven facts and solid logic. To believe otherwise is to ignore proven facts, and is therefore simply incorrect. Not subjectively, but literally. There is no way to rightly justify falsehoods.

I can equate your UNPROVEN beliefs any way I want. Don't like it? Find another universe to live in. Not everyone believes the same as everyone else, and I sincerely hope that never changes.

  8. I think it wont be so safe to throw supermassive matter such as uranium or plutonium to a big self contained fussion reactor such as the sun, since I am no expert in the field I can't tell, but IMO it would break the balance between explosion/gravity that keeps the sun from becoming a supernova...

When the Sun eats mass equivalent to Jupiter every year or so without any changes, I doubt a few thousand nukes will make any difference.

  9. It's a proven law of nature that genes mutate and these mutations manifest as eventual species change through natural selection.

Show me the proof. (theoretical logic is not proof)

It doesn't even require to look at past examples. Just look at how mutations work in humans today

Six toes, etc. doesn't carry over through generations. I have yet to see any genetic mutation (that doesn't make the person infertile/dead) carry over. Please show me an example of it, or any "beneficial" mutation traversing the generations.

Society's attitude of overbearing equality and acceptance of one another's beliefs is just backwards. Creationists are just straight up wrong, on par with believing that the earth is flat, or that the sun revolves around the earth, and their idiot beliefs shouldn't even be mentioned in a public school.

I can equate your beliefs in the same way, doesn't make any difference to the factuality of either of the belief systems.

  10. I meant Glass for general hard pastic like bottles

Still far more expensive than plastic, and the infrastructure needed for producing it on the scale necessary would cost trillions. Even using metal would be less expensive.

cotton for softer plastic like bags. I posted that later.

Again, cotton is far more expensive, and the infrastructure necessary for is it prohibitively expensive. Also, you can't use cotton as a replacement for Ziploc freezer bags...
