this stuff is totally great....every song is invigorating....just supreme in quality..,, both in production and composition....... where does this stuff actually come from.... movies?, games?.... who actually performs and who is the aspiring composer/s?

I thought it was one of those Colossi off of Shadow of the Colossus right when the video was fading in the picture.

    Of course I was wrong.

  2. I'm currently using 352 layers on my texture pack for Project Zomboid. No lag.

-edit- I guess the fact that each layer contains about 30 pixels is why :P

I'm working on a 5x7 inch canvas with a PPI of 300. if my computer wasn't lagging then I'm probably doing something wrong. XD

  3. you convinced yourself. I was just ranting about how happy I was to be back in the days when I still loved CoD. XD

Last I played was TF2. Was doing quite well as demo. woulda been doing better had my internet not decided to go out every 10 min.

  4. I made the mistake of googling "Rainbow Dash" with SafeSearch completley off...

Thanks for the explanation of vectors (I think I would like that geeky explanation, Rarity), but how do these guys get vectors of the pony characters? They look too official. Do they make them from scratch or do they somehow capture it from the show and vectorize it? How?

A vector in photoshop is made using paths. You draw out the path in the shape you want, then use a type of Fill that fills in only the inside of the path. that way, when you scale the image, you're scaling the paths and it reveals more or less of the fill. So you're not technically scaling the pixels as you are scaling the area in which the pixels are visible.

Vector ponies, well, only way I can think they do that is they take a screen cap of the pony, then go in and draw paths around the edges of each part and use the technique I just mentioned, using a different layer for each change in color. then when they're done, they remove the screen cap, and have a vector image which can be scaled to any size, up or down, and not lose it's quality. Only works in the PSD file though since once you save it to anything else it seizes to be a true vector and becomes an image which when scaled will lose quality.

Of course, as awesome as that sounds, there are limitations. You cannot paint, dodge/burn, or use effects on a vector layer without rasterizing it first. but once you rasterize it, it's no longer vector and will not scale seamlessly.

I may have to try it sometime and see if I can do it. :P

    [/nerd rant]

  5. Brony IS fan of the show. It's the term used to describe someone who likes it, not only the people who obsess over it. The only reason people ahve the problem of ever telling the difference is the vast majority of people who do obsess.

  6. I personally love it, yes. Even if my overly self-critical side stresses over the small things. :P I guess that is what's important for recreational art.

I guess what I tried to say but didn't word very clearly: I can handle criticism, because yes it will always be there, but I don't necessarily look forward to it. And this, factored in with the other things that I stress over just adds up.

I have been getting better about it though. I've started showing recreational work to my instructors for their feedback on things, asking for tips that I could improve, explain the processes I used, etc. I find their feedback, harsh or not, is the best I get. :P

    edit: whoa, double ninja'd.

  7. Lawl, yeah I remember that. But some fears are harder to overcome than others. :P

it's not all criticism, it's the kind where people just tear it apart for it's bad and ignore the good that really cuts deep. Kinda like what BTG said on the topic for the deus ex sig. I'll be honest, it hurt.
