  1. Some types of gaming are mainstream... Others are not. Dev's will continue to market towards the hardcore gaming scene because they know that that is were the loyalty is, all companies know that the key to sucess is customer loyalty. Their fanbase becomes their advertisers, they become the people who go out and buy $100.00 figurines. Casual gaming can bring in cash but good dev's rely on hardcore gamers to fuel them.

  2. Well, yes it is a total copy. I just don't understand why that is a bad thing. It's not like it hurts the PC market. It's a console game after all.

Ahh, but Notch has been speaking about a console version ( even though he is rubbish at coding games ). Seriously, the Minecraft modders are better at coding the game than he is -_-

  3. Just a thought... If God exists, and you don't believe, something bad WILL happen after you die. If God doesn't exist, and you do believe, nothing will happen after you die.

[/facepalm] Pascals' Wager.... Officially the most idiotic and unresearched arguement you can make in the Religion vs. Atheism topic, I think there might even be an internet rule that states if you use Pascal's Wager you lose the arguewment by default.

  4. Me and my friends recently picked up on a faux-Minecraft for the xbox called Fortresscraft that looks to spread the fun to consoles.

I really... Do not like that game. I hate copy-cats when it comes to gaming ( e.g. COD, MOH etc. )

  5. Libya HAS, in fact, employed terrorists. The guy who blew up that US airliner over Locherbie, Scotland was Libyan. That's why he went back there to a heroes' welcome when he was released. (Thanks, UK!) On February 24, 2011, Libya's former justice minister Mustafa Abdul Jalil claimed that Muammar Gaddafi had personally ordered the Lockerbie bombing.

It was a Lybian terrorist who blew up a Berlin nightclub and killed 230 people.

Abu Nidal (google him, children) was sheltered and employed by Libya.

Also, Libya accepted responsibility for the hijackinjg and deaths aboard UTA Flight 772.

It is extremely unfortunate that the world sees only that terrible side of what we do.

I say rather that the great stuff we do (Asian Tsunami relief, Haiti Relief, pretty damn well near everywhere relief) has a tendency to get ignored.

We're like that smart kid who gets all the hate for messing up the curve and is picked last for gym... until he starts doing the jocks' homework, and then he's their best friend... for as long as they need him, then he goes back to being a pariah.

There's a lot of jealousy and butthurt from the has-been and never-will-be nations, as well. Aww. someone wost their widdle empiwes!

Yes, we project our power. Because we CAN, and if you could, you would too. Imagining anything else is lying to yourself.

(Sorry if that was a little flamey. There are just a few things that push my annoyed button.)

Get the hell of your high horse and stop pretending it's America that's in the right all the time, " I say rather that the great stuff we do (Asian Tsunami relief, Haiti Relief, pretty damn well near everywhere relief) has a tendency to get ignored". You think your the only ones who provide relief? Maybe your "ignored" because a helluva lotta other countries do it too, I don't personally hate America at all, but I sure can see how America is seen as the big bully nation of the world from the eyes of others

  6. Gravity is a law, not a theory anymore. Atomics are no longer theories either. Evolution is a theory.

And here's where BTG is found to be a bullshitter of extreme proportions. Gravity is not a law, if you understood how science works you would know this. In everyday use, theory means a guess or a hunch, something that maybe needs proof. In science, a theory is not a guess, not a hunch. It's a well-substantiated, well-supported, well-documented explanation for our observations. It ties together all the facts about something, providing an explanation that fits all the observations and can be used to make predictions. In science, theory is the ultimate goal, the explanation. It's as close to proven as anything in science can be.

Some people ( BTG ) think that in science, you have a theory, and once it's proven, it becomes a law. That's not how it works. In science, we collect facts, or observations, we use laws to describe them, and a theory to explain them. You don't promote a theory to a law by proving it. A theory never becomes a law.

Shall I repeat myself again? A theory never becomes a law. In fact, if there was a hierarchy of science, theories would be higher than laws. There is nothing higher, or better, than a theory. Laws describe things, theories explain them. An example will help you to understand this. There's a law of gravity, which is the description of gravity. It basically says that if you let go of something it'll fall. It doesn't say why. Then there's the theory of gravity, which is an attempt to explain why. Actually, Newton's Theory of Gravity did a pretty good job, but Einstein's Theory of Relativity does a better job of explaining it. These explanations are called theories, and will always be theories. They can't be changed into laws, because laws are different things. Laws describe, and theories explain.

Just because it's called a theory of gravity, doesn't mean that it's just a guess. It's been tested. All our observations are supported by it, as well as its predictions that we've tested. Also, gravity is real! You can observe it for yourself. Just because it's real doesn't mean that the explanation is a law. The explanation, in scientific terms, is called a theory.

Evolution is the same. There's the fact of evolution. Evolution (genetic change over generations) happens, just like gravity does. But that's not the issue we are addressing here. The Theory of Evolution by Natural Selection is our best explanation for the fact of evolution. It has been tested and scrutinised for over 150 years, and is supported by all the relevant observations. [/rant_over]

  7. You think that's shocking? I have no steam account, no PC, unless that's just a run of the mill computer, play FPS on the PS3, and don't download anything. I also have no idea how to do anything cool on the internet like draw, hack, program, etc. Now somebody revive him.

Portal 1 IS on the PS3 y'know? It's in the Orange Box, which you can pick up at retail extremely cheap. Along with HL2 + Episodes and TF2

  8. Hey, what's up with the Banner? It's diffrent!

Yeah, i also just noticed that. It looks cool.

Mhm... looks the same to me, maybe the change was also lost? What was it like?

It had two silver curving lines coming over the barn and the scarecrow downwards to the bottom of the text
