  1. Installing Origin. Seems pretty useless so far, but might come in handy whenever I get a game that requires it.

Seriously though, why EA have decided to use Origin instead of releasing their games on Steam is beyond me.

    Bigger profit margins.

-edit- Just finished DNF. And WTF, it ends on the dam level? What happened to the jetpacks? I guess that would have made the game too fun.

This game seems to be the embodiment of every bad game design choice from the last 12 years. And really? Only 7 hours long for a game that took so long to develop? Nobody should buy this game, you have to be a huge fan of Duke's 2-dimensional character to even get any enjoyment out of it. Serious Sam does Duke better than this game, and Bulletstorm does Duke better than this game. Just buy one of those.

  2. I actually love the Hive level. The design of it, the sexual feeling of it, everything feeling so taboo and perverted... I fucking love it.

I feel it takes some ideas from Duke Nukem 3D and just go with them to the next level, and it's great in my opinion.

I guess killing naked pregnant woman just isn't my thing. Plus those stupid "roll the ball" puzzles.

The beginning was fun, I'll admit. But the entire game's gone very, very bad from then on. First it was levels full of naked woman that had been raped. Then it was a vehicle section which dragged on for way too long and had a vehicle that handled like the Mako. And now I've spent three hours wandering around grey corridors in an attempt to not fall asleep from boredom, while Duke repeats the same 5 one-liners he has for the entire fucking game.

All I've seen in this game so far is ideas ripped from other games but done ten times worse. If this game doesn't get better after the dam level then my money's been totally wasted. I wouldn't suggest anyone pay more than $5 for this game. If it hadn't have started off reasonably good then I probably wouldn't hate the game as much as I do right now, but giving me an hour of fun followed by 6 hours of dull, repetitive bullshit actually angers me.

  3. I can hardly bring myself to watch any of the new episodes, never mind read a fanfic. And it's almost 180 thousand words, *sigh.

I start a new episode and as soon as I know it's a CMC episode I close the tab.

  4. (haven't played redemption)

    Don't do it, it's baaaad.

System Shock with mouse aiming mod

Same here, much the same as my reaction to Half Life 2 I played SS2 and enjoyed it so much that I wanted to play it's predecessor.

Semi on topic, I just bought a new copy of SS2 for under $400. Woohoo!

  5. Got my new vegas, got home, played it, sucked. I liked it at first, but it got worse as it progressed. It just felt, unfinished...

I had the total opposite reaction, I wasn't hyped for it at all because FO3 was so bad compared to Oblivion. I bought it about a year later on Steam sale for $10 and was amazed by how good it was, being the charismatic persuasive guy actually works along with every other skill you leveled up, you could actually roleplay the game. Fallout 3 only had two useful skills, lockpicking and guns.

Fallout: NV is one of my favourite games of the last decade, I've played through it 5 times compared to the 1 time I played through it on Fallout 3. The only thing FO3 did better IMO was the DLC, although New Vegas had the best DLC overall (Old World Blues), FO3 had better overall DLC quality.

All the well known ones are completely overrated even if I do enjoy...well...all of them. Spoony can rant all he wants but I can still find enjoyment in them.

I've enjoyed the SNES ones but 7,8 and beyond were just really bad in my opinion. I didn't enjoy 7 and seeing as that's the best one they've made there's no chance I'll like the others.

  6. Fallout 3 (skyrim is actually better as a game, but fallout 3 was the first RPG game I really got into.

Have you tried New Vegas yet? It's certainly the better Fallout game, seeing as skills outside of "guns" are actually useful. And shooting without VATS is viable.

Story's also way better as well.

  7. Eating breakfast?

YOU ASKING ME OR TELLING ME!

    YES!

SO YOU'RE BOTH ASKING AND TELLING ME AT THE SAME TIME...

    F$&@#%$!!!

I'm installing a the BGT mod and the Widescreen mod for the Baldur's Gate series. It turns both the BG games + the expansions into a total continuity, all on the Baldur's Gate 2 engine.

  8. Have fun with the absolute worst sprint function in an FPS ever.

In contention with Call of Juarez?

Just bought this from Gamersgate. I'm going from BG1 to PS: T, haven't played any of the expansions, BG1 or Icewind Dale 2 yet.
