It may have been relatively complete when they showed it, but in implementing the other systems necessary for the game to function as a game instead of a demo, it may have broken something in that content that couldn't be easily fixed... Hence, cut content.

The problem is how much content was cut, there's no way they cut that much content because it was buggy or not working properly, what they gave us was half-baked at best and it was falsely advertised.

From the looks of things, only five things were cut. Now with games like Bioshock Infinite, Half-Life 2 (especially this), Kingdom Hearts, and of course Aliens: Colonial Marines, there's more cut content. In some cases, a lot more. I'm sure you're well aware about the cut content in Half-Life 2 and Aliens; Colonial Marines. However, here's a list of cut content in Bioshock Infinite and the entire Kingdom Hearts series.

Depressed and creeped out. I enjoy working here, however I need a new job. Mainly for a higher pay. The other reason being the unwanted guests here. One of the first things I saw today was a cricket. Black. Ew. Fuck nope. A few months ago, there was a cockroach, or a beetle. I don't know my bugs. I don't care to know. I just don't want to deal with them. We had an ant problem. Mainly I'll see spiders here. Fuck nope as well. Creepiest moment was when I was helping a customer, and a big spider (about the size of a quarter) quickly crawled up and around the monitor on the computer I was using. Nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope nope!

In other news, I've thrown everything at my computer, even the kitchen sink, AND IT STILL FUCKING SHUTS DOWN! Oh hey, that's the second emotion I've felt, other than sadness, in a while. Creeped out, and anger. Both in one day. Yesterday was only one other: Laughter. Only lasted about 10 minutes. Maybe I suffer from minor Depression. I don't know. The only thing left to try is reinstalling Windows. That's gonna be my weekend project.

Yeah I tried checking event log, but my computer shut down. Using my tablet until I get a higher quality PSU.

How do you know that that content would even be in a format usable by the current engine? It isn't always cut just to remove it from the game, there can be technical issues with the content.

 

As I said, we haven't given the devs sufficient time to find out if they're going to let the game rot, or finish it.

For example, Cloakers were cut in Payday 2 because they were buggy as fuck. Sure they're still buggy, but they were far worse.

Sometimes the mood strikes me to have a challenge, and in games like Bioshock, I can, without having to do a new game.

When DiRT 3 launched, everyone was horrified to see that it had Games for Windows Live DRM. You literally couldn't save the game without it. That was really shitty for those people where GFWL just didn't work (like me). All the devs (Codemasters) said was that they were working on removing it.

So, a few years later, it turns out Codemasters didn't abandon the game, because suddenly they managed to remove GFWL AND to everyone who previously bought the game and had to deal with the awful DRM, they gave the "Complete Edition" of DiRT 3 for free!

Just because devs constantly update a game, doesn't mean ghey really care about the community. Just look at Payday 2.
