  1. I understand that it was the effect he was going for and I think it was very funny. However, prepubescent 13 year olds, may not. I could easily see the confusion that will occur later, and I think he's opening himself to criticism:

"Hey, you were saying all those things to the scientist about his mother and he just ignored them"

    "It's Freeman's Mind, it's in his head"

"But earlier, he couldn't think underwater, my life is over!!!!!!!!11111!!!"

  2. Indeed, if here were speaking clearly underwater then we'd have different people complaining but for the opposite reason.

"WHY IS HES TALKING UNDERWATER ? YOU CAN'T BREATHE UNDERWATER!"

"It's called Freeman's Mind. It's all in his head."

"IF IT WERE IN HIS HEAD WE'D HEAR ECHOES CAUSE THAT'S HOW PEOPLE THINK IN CARTOONS."

    "..."

Personally, I think it's funny, and ultimately that's what Ross is going for.

  3. If we judge by one of the fastest speedruns on youtube, Ross is now 17:51 into that 36:04 minute video. So 49.5% done. However, that also includes the end-game sequence, and he actually kills the final boss at 32:45.

So Ross is approximately 54.5% of the way through the game.

  4. Actually, even though this is consistent since it's happened every time he's put his head in water, he's still thinking thoughts and you can still even hear some of them. Like when he slips off the side of the thin wall and falls in, he says "Not again..."
