Great episode, the new sound effects are awesome.

Considering I'm not a Disney fan and definitely not a Final Fantasy fan, and considering this will most likely be PS4 exclusive...
Yup, won't be playing it.

Angry Joe's Interview with Major Nelson:
6RtSGFryKwo
That guy got to be a major dick at the end there. I can't help but feel that condescending attitude from where he grabs the mic as his general feelings toward the gamers and potential buyers who have the same thoughts and criticisms. Basically, he doesn't think we don't know what we're talking about and our opinions are invalid. If they didn't provide this infrastructure in the first place, we wouldn't be discussing the DRM issues at all, which Major Nelson is desperately trying to claim the other features of the console outweigh it. They do not. Granted they aren't as bad as Steam (no family-share ATM, I hope that changes), they're still worse than the WiiU and PS4.
Yeah he acted very unprofessional. My impression of Microsoft worsens the harder they try to convince us.

Well it could be worse, you could be drinking coke...That would do less damage than you might think. Yes there will be some shortcircuiting until things dry up, but generally speaking the acid and the sugary goop left behind will have no immediate effect on any circuitry
A while ago I lobotomized an old P3 to see how much damage it could take and maybe debunk a few myths in the process. I zapped every component thoroughly with static electricity, but I was unable to break anything. I tried the water approach without results. Then cola, since there are so many lovely myths around that substance, but basically it was the same deal.
Another thing to keep in mind is that water conducts electricity pretty badly. Some industrial cooling solutions actually involve submersing hardware into different, non-conducting liquids. Shortcircuiting hardware generally doesn't do any damage either. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the state of PSU's these days, or the simple fact that current going to the wrong place doesn't actually break anything. It's just electricity going into a place designed to handle electricity. RAM resets itself after the power goes off and any harddisk automatically decouples its I/O head when there is a power spike.
Well to top it off, I screwed open the protective cap of the CPU and poured cola directly onto the exposed core. That did have an effect, at least for while. Slowly it started baking out the sugary mess. About a week after the incident the computer started to boot again. It was like a scene out of Evil Dead.
Because at this point I simply wanted the machine dead, I attempted the classic mistake lots of people have when using a screwdriver around a mainboard: apply too much force. I left some good scratches on the circuit board and that did the trick.
I think in today's society, we're really more ruled by myth and superstition than we realize. We live further away from the cold hard truths of life, and yet understand less of how things work. It's odd, but then things would be so boring if we weren't scared of microwaves and cellphone radiation or giving too much sugar to children.
I wasn't really referring to the damage it would do, more like what a nightmare it would be to clean up. That shit STICKS TO EVERYTHING.

So I find argument that she focuses only on negative things invalid, because that is the SENSE of her research. There is nothing biased.
I'm going to have to disagree with the biased thing there. The fact that she chose to focus her research on finding examples of sexism against women shows that she went into her subject with a preconceived notion of what she was going to find and how it should be interpreted. I think that in itself is close enough to the definition of being biased to validate the claims made her and throughout the internet.
Exactly...
because she's focusing her video on one topic: negative portrayal of women in video games. You're asking her to talk about something that's the exact opposite of what her stated intention is.And that is one of the main reasons as to why the videos are getting so much backlash. If her analysis of the portrayal of women in video games was the least bit fair and approached with facts instead of her own personal interpretations on the subject, then it's possible that this topic wouldn't be as opposed to her videos as it has been thus far. Personally, the only thing I'm asking from her videos is a proper analysis of the subject, not one fueled by her own ideology.
Precisely why she kinda bothers me but I respect her nonetheless...

Zelda and Samus are great examples of strong women in games, especially around times where this was uncommon.

Bioshock Infinite. Finished it. Ending left me feeling kinda torn though, not sure whether it makes the game worse or better.

Well they said they're not taking people right now on their site, but an email was sent anyway and got no reply.I am still quite curious if Rooster Teeth would be interested if you were to contact them.Would you still be interested in working with them if somebody replied?
I highly doubt it considering he's got a deal with ThatGuyWithTheGlasses.com now.

How can it work with DOSBox when it's not a DOS game? O.o
It uses DirectX and only runs in Windows...
-
I've only played the first, second, and most of the fourth one (The game had a game-breaking glitch and I was forced to delete my save) and I absolutely adore this series. I really want some sort of hi-def collection of the games so that I can play them all. Scummvm refuses to work for me for Monkey 3 and I even tried DOSbox to no avail. But I loved the first two and I really would like to see more.
Uhm... you don't need ScummVM or DOSBox for Monkey Island 3. It's a Windows 98 game...
It works for me in Windows 7 using a custom installer you can find online, granted you own the game.
ScummVM only works for the first two games in the series and it's pretty much a DOSBox that's more specifically designed for the first two Monkey Island games.
Monkey Island 3 is a Windows game so it should work. Give it a try.

I think Monkey Island 3 was my favourite by far. Loved the style and the humor in it.
