On a more serious note, does it bug the crap out of anyone else to watch these organizations try to consolidate and control the talent on the internet?

 

 

Yeah, I've never seen anything like this before (as I experienced the whole Machinima-Ross interaction almost directly )

 

It's like someone in higher management COMPLETELY lost contact with reality and now they use Dollars and cold calculation to establish their own rights just to gather all talented people and make..I think sth like a talent -concentration-camp... And these new laws are enforced without any meaningful consultations with the other side whatsoever, not mentioning such a basic thing as elementary respect to your business partners.... It's just outrageous!

I know I've been defensive of Machinima in the past, especially when people were just being impatient and not understanding but... yeah, I'm not going to cut them slack here at all. I'm totally against Machinima now. They've gotten progressively worse as a company, their content has been lackluster and this is just the final nail in the coffin for me.

Yep. Ross's material is superb and better than a lot of what appears on TGWTG/BT. But then again, what appears on TGWTG/BT is better than a lot of what appears on Machinima, so...

I would love to see Freeman's Mind on Blistered Thumbs...

Yeah, only works with GZDoom and Zanondrum afaik.

Well, since he's playing Brutal Doom I assume he's using GZDoom which is based on newer id Tech so yeah, it's probably possible.

This is awesome exactly because it is just 1 episode, I can't imagine it staying hilarious and awesome for more than 5-8 episodes.

 

EDIT: Oh and there is one detail that annoys me in this video: Ross didn't mute the default Doom guy's pain grunt, it sticks out like a sore thumb (for me at least).

Don't think there would be any way of doing so without heavy manual audio editing...

Aside from Duke Nukem Forever, no, can't think of any games that come close to feeling like punk games.

I think Rage might be the closest I can think of recently. I'd say Bulletstorm had some punk elements to it, even if it might be a stretch to call it a punk game.

This includes links to fake sites clearly set up for confusion and the purpose of trolling.

Sorry, but even if it was an April Fool's joke, it still was against the rules.

Besides, the joke was terrible. I knew that there wouldn't be any HL2 EP3, mostly because at this point it would obviously be Half-Life 3, the link looked fake and it was just so blatantly obvious that I didn't feel it was worth even having as an April Fool's joke. You have to be pretty stupid to even believe this was real for a second.

Try harder next year.
