On one hand, this means Lucas can't fuck up the franchise anymore. On another hand, this means Disney can fuck up the franchise more than Lucas has.

Yeah, might as well, lol. I think I just at some point heard Romero call it Big Fraggin' Gun and just accepted it as "official". So yeah, drinking coffee and... killing zombies. Weee. I feel like writing a review of this soon.

I never disliked the style or the characters. I love them and I really enjoyed the videos about them. It was actually the reason I wanted to play TF2 in the first place. I just didn't like the gameplay. I could never get into it and it sort of turned me off team-based shooters for good almost. I also don't feel like the gameplay really lets the characters act out in any way. You just pick a team role basically and it feels way too restrictive for me, especially when you're limited to a couple of guns that barely do any damage at all and are just frustrating to use. It just feels really weird and I can never get used to it and I dunno... just not my cup of tea. No, it's not fun to play for me.

JJR: 10/10 (I agree totally with Foal on that one, your drawing looks way more badass) Foal: 9/10 It's cute and all but the border bothers the hell out of me. The colour contrasts with the forum background and makes Flutter really hard to see.

I love all kinds of games, especially FPS's. But for some reason, TF2 just rubs me the wrong way. I guess it's the same reason I don't like Minecraft. I can't really place my finger on it, but I just don't like it.

Why the 9/10?

Actually, in the original Ultimate Doom manual they state it stands for "Big Fraggin Gun" or "Big Friggin Gun" so there was an explanation for it. I can prove this considering I own a real copy of the original Doom. Also, in the movie it was used as an acronym for "Bio-Force Gun", though that makes it a totally different weapon considering the original BFG uses plasma. But yeah, "Big Fucking Gun" is the unofficial fan name for the gun since, well, it's a big fucking gun! Edit: Upon closer inspection, the Doom manual does not list any name for the weapon. Oh well, I am pretty sure id at some point disclosed what BFG stands for. Oh well... it's a big fucking gun to me.

Main problem I have is that I have a lot of games I'd rather play. Sure, I could play TF2 but why would I when I could play something else that I find more enjoyable? Different strokes for different people, that's what I mean.

Suiting up to spend the evening playing Doom 3 BFG Edition.

I love FPS games but that doesn't mean I enjoy TF2. I just don't find it engaging or fun at all. I'd rather play Doom or Quake to be honest. Or hell, if I wanna play a free-to-play FPS I'd rather go with Blacklight or Tribes.

I agree. EA has made some of my favourite games, including the early Need For Speed games and they also published Syndicate last year which was a good game despite receiving a terrible PC port. It wasn't awesome but it was pretty fun in multiplayer at least. That being said, they have made some rather dumbfounding decisions recently... And I think EA's main problem is that they try to co-develop games they should just stick to publishing. The thing that ultimately ruined Ultima 9 was EA's meddling because they feared the game wouldn't sell if it didn't have this and this, not to mention it was being rushed as hell. Same happened to Mass Effect 3 I believe. The ending being changed to what we ended up getting was probably largely due to EA stepping out of their publisher role and trying to meddle with development which just causes more chaos than good. The same happens to a lot of big budget movies that end up being terrible because the studio publishing the movie meddles with the director's original vision and turns it into a clusterfuck.

Maybe you should give it a shot some day.

I hope they are showing the movie here this Thursday when I get my monthly payment so I can go see it. I've been waiting for another Bond movie for years. I loved Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace at least had some good action scenes and Daniel Craig is such a badass.
