Been wanting to try out these games for a while, though as mentioned previously, fantasy settings kinda turn me off.

Women want equal rights, eh? Generally I'm against violence, but if it would be okay to hit a guy, then it would be okay to hit a woman under the same circumstances.

I like that. I feel like it's unfair to think of women as weaker.

Duke Nukem 1 was definitely the earliest gaming experience that I can remember. Probably why I am such a huge Duke Nukem fan today, I felt I grew up with him. Even before Duke Nukem 3D became popular, I knew who he was.

I also played a bit of BlackThorne, imagine PoP with a long-haired hunk with a shotgun and Orcs.

Wolfenstein 3D was also my first foray into FPS's and definitely made me interested in the genre as a whole. I later played Doom and Quake, of course.

On Super Nintendo which was the first and only game console I ever owned as a child, I played mostly Super Mario World, Starwing (Star Fox), X-Zone (Super Scope game), B.O.B. and Wario's Woods. But I was definitely always more of a PC gamer and after the SNES, I moved on to PC for good.

Today I own a NES, a SNES, a PS1, a N64 and even a Sega Megadrive, so I have definitely compensated a bit for the lack of consoles as a child. But at my heart, I will always remain a PC gamer. And Duke Nukem will always be the PC gaming icon for me.

I am Baptised as a Christian and my beliefs, though having personalized aspects, identify considerably well with the Christian church, specifically Methodist.

 

I do believe in a God. While he is not a bringer of justice to the entire world and is not meant to keep total peace between humans, he still influences the lives of those who live under his domain for the better. My definitive faith came one day when mr and my father had a roadtrip out to Sandusky, Ohio to go to Cedar Point, an amusement park up there. While in the hotel on the night before, we were watching the weather and there was a 70% chance of rain the next day. As it would mean we couldn't ride the rides and would have wasted time and money on the trip, I prayed that it wouldn't rain the next day.

 

The next day came and not a drop of rain fell on that park, though you could see a rather dark cloud surrounding the park for the majority of the day, yet the clouds seemed to dissipate before reaching the park and regenerate outside the park, creating a large hole in the storm cloud that covered the area of the park. That is why I have faith in God. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. And if you wonder how there can be a God with all this pain and torment in the world, that's why there is a devil as well.

For me it was just an epiphany one day when I looked out over nature and thought to myself there was no way life on Earth could be a mere coinscidence. That and the religion just makes sense to me in a way no other religion does and I feel that my faith gives me an inner peace I never had before.

I would've come if it wasn't for the fact I live in Norway and can barely afford to travel to Oslo.

ChuckThe2nd, I think the 95% figure more accurately represents people who indicated they were going to show up, but didn't. I could count the morning turnout on my fingers and toes, including Ross and his friends.

 

I was hoping to see some posts from the others, to get a feel for whether they were Ok with having their pictures posted, but hey, it was a public meetup, after all. I only took a few pictures, will post 1 or 2 of the better ones. Unfortunately, due to abysmal 3G internet here in central PA (taking the long way home), even those pictures might have to wait, sorry.

Here is my opinion:

 

If a woman is being an absolute bitch, yell at her. Verbally assault her to get her to stop. Or, just walk away.

 

If she's coming at you with no weapon, restrain her.

 

If she's coming at you with any sort of weapon, use any force necessary to preserve your own health. In other words, fuck that bitch up if you have to.

I'd say that goes for anyone, not just women. Gee, is it really so hard to get people to understand that the world consists of individuals, not groups?
