  1. I thought the game was damn hard when I played it the first time. I died a LOT and had to take a lot of pauses. Especially the boss battles I thought were challenging and it actually felt rewarding and good to beat them, I got a lot of great adrenaline kicks from it.

I don't agree at all that this game is not fast paced or boring in any way.

When this game came out I played it almost ritualistically for several months. It was really hard to put down and I dare to say it's one of the games where I've actually gone hunting for achievements, something I've NEVER done with ANY other game, not even Half-Life 2.

Maybe it's because I'm a really die-hard Duke fan, or just because I have bad taste, but DNF is one of my favourite games ever.

  2. Making the game so child friendly.

Yeah, Duke being given a blowjob by identical twins at the start of the game, the kinky bondage scenes in the hive and not to mention the glory hole later on are definitely child friendly.

    Removing the (f-bomb) strippers!.

Uhm... come again? One level of the game is DEDICATED to a strip club.

Removing the awkwardly bad puns, some of which are though, quite memorable.

I thought the game had TONS of bad puns and all of them memorable.

  3. But whether a game is fun or awesome is entirely subjective. A game that is trash to some might be a gem to one person (Duke Nukem Forever, case and point). Therefore you can NOT judge a game based on reviews because the reviews don't reflect the quality of the game itself, only the experience of the reviewer and his thoughts on it.

In the end, whether you enjoy a game or not depends entirely on yourself and your taste.

  4. I always judge a game on its own merits rather than comparing it to anything else. I think drawing comparisons to other games is a cowardly way to say a game is "bad". If I can have fun with a game and enjoy it on its own, why compare it to anything?
