  1. they were obviously to dumb to understand that people dont want the same game over and over

I'm sure the sales figures of MW3 agrees with that statement.

    What...?

    They don't?

    Well I'll be damned.

  2. I'm just saying you shouldn't judge the game before it's even out. It's like saying a food item is nasty before you have tasted it, just because it seems that way.

Either way, let's try and get back on the subject of publishers.

    What are your favourite publishers?

  3. Heh... are you ever optimistic about anything, Axel? Because every single game I am excited about, you seem to have some criticism about.

Don't talk about something before you've tried it imo. All I'm saying is that the concept seems intriguing.

Actually the developer is worried the game might be "too hard for most gamers", due to its reliance on using tools and devices over just guns, like in Deus Ex.

  4. Yeah, if they wanna look at my pirated tentacle rape porn and lesbian hentai, sure, go ahead.

In all seriousness though, Origin might have a bad reputation, but as long as it doesn't crash my computer, I'm fine.

  5. Well, I'm pretty excited about Syndicate, the upcoming FPS from EA. I preordered it today. I dunno about you, but the idea of being able to hack into people's brains and make them do shit against their will makes me grin evilly. And I guess the game will pretty much invent cyber vampyrism since you rip people's chips out of their brains in order to upgrade yourself.

So I think both EA and Activision are capable of publishing good games. And while Activision sure gets most of their cash from Call of Duty, they publish a lot of different games. And developers depend on a publisher like Activision because you need major publishers to keep people under one roof and working, nobody will work for free on such huge projects, and you need them to do the marketing so people can get to hear about it.

  6. It's bullshit, and this is all a big misunderstanding blown out of proportion. It's actually Windows 7 doing a routine index scan whenever Origin changes some settings in order to assure the games will run perfectly, kinda like how Steam changes the Steam folder access privileges so that Windows won't fuck with it and cause games to run badly. When Windows runs an index scan, this will show up in certain glitches, affecting Aero and such. I believe that some guy saw this and incorrectly assumed Origin was spying on his files.

Origin isn't spyware, but if you wanna believe it is, fine with me.

And even if it was, I doubt EA would bother using your files against anything. They're a video game publisher and want to offer a good service to their customers. People are just being suspicious because they are using their own platform and it's something new.

It's just a conspiracy theory blown out of proportions, nothing more. People need to stop being so paranoid just because they have no idea how Windows 7 works.

And finally, this is a thread for people who actually use Origin. If you don't, don't post here.

  7. THQ get my best big publisher award. EA and Activision get my "I hope you burn in hell for all eternity until you start making new IP again" award.

It's sad because THQ's going under while the evil duo collectively rape their franchises to death.

I think they are making quality products and that's something I appreciate.

  8. I guess we'll just have to wait and see what they'll do in the future. With other developers there might be chance for a new spinoff product, especially with Activision wanting yearly releases. I personally liked Black Ops a lot, so I'd love to see more of that, especially with the multiplayer from MW3.
