I'm completely fine with it personally, but I understand why people would be upset by it. I personally am all for signature moderation if Ross can be persuaded to bring sigs back.

RAGE. It's a great game but I can tell it's begging for a 1.1 patch. I experience severe lag even on low resolution and the textures seem to load slowly and get blurry whenever I look around.

I don't miss the signatures at all. But maybe removing them altogether wasn't the right solution.

No, it's an issue with using BBCode for signature images altogether. If we had the images stored on the server and forced the user to upload them, we could apply a size limit similar to avatars. And even apply an image limit that forced the user to only use one small image. However, this would sort of ruin how some users like to put their Steam profile pic in their signature which needs to be constantly updated via an img tag.

The thing is that when using tags, there is no way to endorse any form of image size limit automatically. A mod would have to go through every user sig and notify the user to take action, which is a tedious process in the long run.

I think people have abused signatures to include ridicilously large images and animations. A small banner or stuff like a steam profile image are pretty okay in my book.
