Quake III Team Arena also got a release on it actually. I know, ordered that a week ago. I actually like it better than the PC version. Better maps and cooler music. I'll have to check it out if I ever get a Dreamcast of my own.

It was underrated as heck. Fact is there's still games being developed for it so it has pretty much outlived the PS2.

Even if HL3 came out using the Source engine, heck I'd still buy it. I bought Portal 2 even if it used the Source engine. -

I think most people play Serious Sam for the violence. For me, it's fun for a while to play co-op with a friend and just mow down all the enemies.

Well, without looking at the long development period, to me it just feels like a good b-movie that might not look or play as good as the competition in the a-market, but still manages to get a certain cult following. Personally I think the violent game I enjoyed the most this year was Bulletstorm.

I think both games are good in their own rights. Different strokes for different people. DNF got terrible reviews yet I still think it's more entertaining and fun than most shooters out there.
