  1. I honestly don't think it's a good idea, to be honest. The fact it just doesn't work for most people and even has some rather serious health effects should be a warning in of itself.
  2. Hot and humid today, and it looks like we're getting some thunderstorm.
  3. Simple thing. If you don't want it, don't buy it. Hats are not required for you to play the game, so why whine so much about them?
  4. I stick to a normal cycle usually. I prefer sticking to what I'm used to. I don't see any reason why I should sleep several times a day when it's more fitting for me to just sleep 8 hours at night and stay awake all day.
  5. I find it funny how everyone who hates hats never gives any particular reason for why they hate them. They just dislike them because they are there, sort of. Seriously, people seem to just love whining about stuff.
  6. Well, at least it's an honest review about your experience with the game. I disagree strongly with it since it's the game I've had the most fun with lately. Speaking about the alien hive level with the women being raped, uhm, I never heard you complain about that being in Duke 3D, because the same thing happened there. Duke Forever is just more graphic about it. It's not a joke, it's not meant to be funny, it's meant to be the very reason Duke hates the aliens and it's supposed to make you hate the aliens, not the game itself. Even if the game has a loose tone and is very humorous, that part is not meant to be a joke. So I felt you just didn't get most of the game, maybe mostly because your distaste for it made you very focused on pointing out bad things about it. The driving controls, albeit a bit stiff, didn't ruin the game for me really, and the graphics are very tolerable to me.
  7. There's actually a Norwegian band called "Ingenting" which means "Nothing". And the band "A" has a song called "Nothing".
  8. Earthbound is a bit of a cult thing. Not many people know about it, but those who have played it often end up developing a very close relationship to it.
  9. Red Faction 1 and 2 are definitely not obscure. On the PS2 the first game became a massive hit actually.
  10. Yeah, before most of us had the internet, Demo CD's was pretty much how I at least got to try new games.
  11. I think he is morally ambigous since his outcome is based on the player's actions. As far as I'm concerned, he has no personality at all outside of how he is controlled.
  12. Rage should get some attention since it's iD's first showcase of their new engine which, according to John Carmack, will look better than most console games today but run at a really smooth framerate. Just goes to show his priorities are still intact as that is always what iD has done. Create great-looking games that runs on relatively standard hardware.
  13. My own awesomely personally biased top 20: 1. Super Metroid 2. A Link to the Past [Zelda 3] 3. Super Mario All Stars + World 4. Starwing/Star Fox 5. Super Mario Kart 6. Super Bomberman 7. Super Castlevania IV 8. Donkey Kong Country 9. TMHT/TMNT IV: Turtles In Time 10. X-Zone 11. B.O.B. 12. Magical Quest starring Mickey Mouse 13. Arkanoid: Doh It Again 14. Blackthorne 15. Terranigma 16. Wario's Woods 17. The Lion King 18. Mario Paint 19. The Lost Vikings 20. Super Star Wars
  14. Yeah, Zelda II is considered the underdog in the series and a lot of fans dislike it, mostly because it has a lot of gameplay differences. It's a sidescroller for one. Though I wouldn't say it's a bad game, just a hard one.
  15. The Prodigy : Take Me To The Hospital ['09 EQ]
  16. I absolutely think there is. And it's often very annoying too, because they tend to get so caught up in details that aren't even there.
  17. While I probably would not participate, if there's a big interest for this, I see no reason why not.
  18. Any kid who grew up in the early 90's undoubtedly had some kind of relationship to this excellent 16 bit machine that some gamers call Nintendo's best console ever just because it had some of the most classic titles that still remain fun and playable to this day. It was the main competitor to Sega's MegaDrive/Genesis, launching a fierce console war between Sega and Nintendo. What's your favourite games, and do you have any fun memories with this machine? If you're too young to remember it, then let us know what you think of it.
  19. I grew up reading "Hjemme PC" (means basically "Home PC") which is a Norwegian PC magazine. It used to have game sections and game reviews, but was overall focused on computers in general. The first real gaming mag I read was iNcite PC Games or something. The cool thing about that mag was that every issue included a free full version of a game. Was how I got exposed to Fallout 2 and MDK basically.
  20. You never beat LoZ:aLttP?!? I think he meant Zelda 2: The Adventures of Link on the NES, which I'll admit has a very steep difficulty curve. ALttP is actually Zelda 3, technically.
  21. Star Fox, and before that some Need For Speed HP. Also played some Doom 3.
  22. Yea I got about to the 2nd world (not sure where exactly.) I'm thinking about trying to play through it. I got far into the 3rd world in fact. But I never managed to get past a certain boss. The fact your weapons gets taken away when you die didn't help either. That game is very hard because of that.
