  1. Uninspired? Trainwreck? We're talking about the same game now? Fair enough that you don't like the game but I doubt you could call it uninspired when it more or less uses elements from various sources, some more obvious than others. And the game is not a trainwreck when you can play it just fine and enjoy it, like I do. I get that you dislike it, and you're starting to really sound like a broken record now, even if I respect your opinion.

  2. As a guy with very female-like personality (hence why I prefer appearing as a girl), I find that I want men to not always necessarily be nice to me, but make it very clear that they are interested in me and want to be dedicated to me. I don't care if someone are helpful all the time, that's what I want from a friend. But from someone special I want something special. It's not about looks or anything like that, but just being sure. I think I like men who are dominating and a bit dark and possessive, because at least you know they want you.

Other than that, I think it's important that even though you are helpful and kind, you don't let yourself being taken advantage of. Be strong and assertive.

  3. That you couldn't tell when you were looking at it. On a lot of forums, the linked text will be blue. On this forum, all text is white, so you can't tell what's linked at what's not.

Ah yes, I see your point. I'll discuss it with the admins and see what they can do about it. If any more people feel this is a major problem, I think we should do something about it.

  4. I could do it, but it kind of defeats the point of the reputation system.

There is no point, other than to alienate forum regulars who are just trying to help.

What's the point of rep? Really, it's a popularity contest. It's not the best ideas and the best contributors get rep, it's just people who say popular things get rep. What's the point of that?

As Bullseye has demonstrated, rep means nothing; he's going around trying to get negative rep.

It differs from person to person why they give someone else negative rep.

I give negative rep if a person swears a lot and unnecessarily, or if his/her posts are of poor quality or can be considered spam.

If I were to make any rules regarding reputation points, it would be that negative rep should never be given if a person disagrees with someone.

  5. Another improvement that would be nice:

Change the theme of the forum. It's not that I hate black...well let me explain...

    At a first

, can you tell which one of
    are
    and which
are just text this sentence? Text color be changed when hyperlinking.

The theme is fine, it's just that it would be nice to be able to embed

into words. It looks a lot less clunky than posting the entire link.

You just embedded a link into a word. What's the problem?

  6. I'm defending it fiercely personally. I think Duke Nukem's personality and self-aware humor is welcome in a market dominated by boring COD ripoffs and Half-Life has no personality at all. And the variety in level design, to me, is just insane.

I mean, in most FPS games I play, each level looks more or less the same. Take Fallout 3 or Half-Life 2 for instance, aside from a few differences, each level looks identical. In DNF you have very specific levels, ranging from a casino to an alien hive to the desert. Speaking of which, you don't see many first person shooters nowadays with as Lovecraftien Giger'esque design as the alien hive level in DNF. It was SUCH a breath of fresh air to me!

  7. Urge. It has a funny story actually...

Urge was originally a Norwegian caffeinated citrus soda by the Coca-Cola Company but eventually got sold in the US as Surge. Both Surge and Urge vanished from these markets some time in the late 90's but while it has never resurfaced in the US, in Norway you can now get Urge everywhere and even in two energy drink variations.

  8. Even with fingerprints and a dense jungle of scratches my Quake 2 and Hexen 2 CDs can still be read perfectly by my disk drive.

Retail CD's are usually pretty durable. CD-R's should be handled with greater care.

  9. Hey, sorry to veto whoever stickied this, but I see Machinima.com more as an outlet rather than my focus, so I'm changing it back to just a regular topic. I mean Machinima.com have delays, but I've been guilty of that as well from working on other things. It's not like they're preventing from me working on more videos.

I meant to do that myself anyway, but kind of forgot.
