Well, there are too many games to choose from, but there are some exceptions...

 

1) Baldur's Gate 2

2) Fallout 2

3) Knights of the Old Republic 1&2 (I cannot keep them apart)

4) Half Life series

5) Rome Total War... or World of Warcraft (but just because of the hundreds of hours I spent playing it. Yeah yeah, I got no life, so what.)

 

But really, there are a lot of exceptional games. Most of the are the old ones. There are a handful of games that are any good and are younger than ten years. Quality games are dying out.

Fallout 2: FUCK YEAH!

In my opinion Fallout 2 will always be the best in the series, regardless of Fallout 3 or New Vegas.

Doom 2 was never as great as the first Doom but it had a lot of great level design and I liked the idea of demons invading Earth.

Love a good rpg, although i wouldn't say i'm a hardcore RPG junkie. I just like getting lost in a game world and developing a character.

Well, developing a character is what all good RPG's are about in my opinion.

I've read the Half-Life bible actually. Found an ebook torrent of it.

Anything not containing aspartam is good enough for me.

Considering that HoD has some rather... disturbing scenes, this is certainly one cereal box prize no one would forget.

Yep. It has some cool elements to it.

Unreal Tournament - which one? Or all of them?

They're all good but the 2004 version is my favourite.

The whole GTA series.

I find that most GTA games are fun the first week or so of playing them, then I get bored when I get stuck on a mission or something and begin doing pointless stuff like just driving around or shooting people. But even that is boring in the end because it serves no purpose.
