Are Modder the Future for Innovation?
Alyxx Thorne replied to Heliocentrical's topic in Gaming in general
I dunno if "boob physics" and turning dragons into John Cena counts as innovative but modding makes certain games more fun for sure. -

I only play with people I know in any multiplayer game, including MMOs. If you're not on my friends list, you can fuck off.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided. Forgive and Forget?
Alyxx Thorne replied to ArtisticLove's topic in Gaming in general
I haven't bought a single microtransaction myself, since I pretty much consider them pointless in a RPG with a NG+ option. Not to mention I always go for specialized builds on my first playthrough so I don't really need a lot of praxis kits either. -
8/10

Deus Ex Mankind Divided. Forgive and Forget?

And people that don't know about trainers... Trainers are for lazy and impatient people. Especially when there's a NG+ option. -
Watched it in the cinema with 3D. Awesome movie.

Deus Ex Mankind Divided. Forgive and Forget?

I heard Praxis Kits are part of the microtransactions. Is it possible to get all of the upgrades without spending real money? Hell yeah, the game has a NG+ mode so eventually you WILL get fully decked out. The microtransactions are just there for lazy or impatient people I guess... -
Robocop - Classic cyberpunk action movie directed by Paul Verhoeven (Starship Troopers, Showgirls) about a cop turned cyborg searching for revenge, and his lost humanity. The sequel was pretty good too. Videodrome - Trippy movie directed by David Cronenberg (The Fly, Scanners), about the owner of a private TV channel who is looking for something more hardcore for his viewers and finds a snuff show called Videodrome. However, in his search for the truth behind the show, he uncovers a pretty crazy conspiracy that involves using TV signals to induce hallucinations in people and using these hallucinations to control them. Pretty classic movie with amazing special effects and great performances by James Woods and Debbie Harry. Blade Runner - Basically a noir detective movie but set in a futuristic version of Los Angeles, directed by Ridley Scott (Alien, Legend) the movie defined the cyberpunk genre, both in terms of look and feel. It's about a detective named Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a so called Blade Runner who's job is to track down rogue Replicants, basically androids that work as slaves and are given a 2 year lifespan. Some of them rebel and escape, though in his pursuit of a particularly nasty group, he comes across a Replicant named Rachael (Sean Young) who challenges his perceptions of humanity, and even makes him question his own existence. It's one of the deepest movies I know, with an absolutely stunning look that was done entirely without CGI, and an unforgettable soundtrack by the legendary Vangelis who did a sort of blues-influenced synthesizer soundtrack that fits the movie perfectly. Escape From New York - Director John Carpenter (Halloween, The Thing, They Live) offers us a vision of a future New York where the entire Island has been turned into a prison for the scum of the Earth, a hellish territory where only the strongest survive. Of course, the President (Donald Pleasence) has to end up getting captured inside the zone and it's up to war veteran Snake Plissken (Kurt Russell) to save him. The movie has a very straight forward plot, but a lot of cool scenes, an amazing soundtrack and great performances. The movie also was one of the main inspirations for the Metal Gear games, with the protagonist's name Snake being a direct reference.

Independent games/mods worth playing

Undertale - A game that singlehandedly changed my perception on gaming, what games can be and how games can impact us on a spiritual level. I'm not even kidding, this game WILL change you if you allow it to. -

ROSS'S GAME DUNGEON: DEUS EX - INVISIBLE WAR
Alyxx Thorne replied to Ross Scott's topic in Ross's Game Dungeon
I actually like Invisible War a great deal, but it is in my opinion the weakest game in the series. -
Deus Ex Mankind Divided. Forgive and Forget?

It doesn't ruin the game for me at all. I'm still having a great time with it. And the unique weapons can be accessed in every new playthrough so it's only consumables that are one time use only. I feel the issue has been blown up a little bit, mostly by people who have some sort of agenda against microtransactions. But the game never forces you to make these transactions, it's just kinda saying "hey, this is here if you need it". And the game is perfectly playable without ever making them so... meh. -

8/10 Would be better without the white border
