  1. Sooooo... we have stability now?

I certainly hope so. Haven't gotten the infamous screen yet.

Edit: Nevermind. Got the screen again. Problem not fixed.

My old password is still operational, I've not performed a password recovery, so I guess that change Jexius mentions in the Notice he posted is not yet implemented.

It would seem so... let's hope they get it done soon.

  2. If Nintendo had kept their quality up I might've continued to give them money, but as it is... I'll get one of the new PSP's instead, use one of the various hackware firmwares that are out there, and do all those games on a decent game system that's actually worth it's pricetag.

So you, who haven't even played this system yet for yourself or even seen the game can already say it's not worth the money? So you have psychic powers? Wow...

I've seen the whitesheets for the hardware they use.

And you can base your statement exclusively on the hardware without even playing one of the games and see how well the games utilize the hardware?

  3. What you choose to believe in is very different than what actually is. Please stop saying there's no evidence for evolution; there are entire Ph.D. theses written on the subject. Just because you don't know what the evidence is, doesn't mean there is none.

There's creation, which you take entirely on faith, and then there's evolution: a theory created by science, backed by evidence, research and empirical studies; the theory is created on this basis which is also the basis of science. Reality is objective, even if you don't think so and that's what the theory of evolution is: a model of how to explain how things work in real life based on evidence gathered from the perception of reality.

Can't argue with that, you have a good point there.

But in this thread, we're talking about the theory of evolution: a scientific theory that explains the diversity of life. We're not talking about how life came to be.

I thought this thread was about evolution vs. creation being taught in schools, not discussing evolution exclusively?

  5. No nightmares, but I remember this really weird one nonetheless.

For some reason I dreamt of playing Bulletstorm. There was this quad-cliff-like jungle area where the four edges met together in the center. Some form of flying boss came out. You were supposed to use glowing-blue launch pads to get a hit on it in the air. For some reason I couldn't use guns, and constantly attempted to kick it in mid-air. Then something involving Duke Nukem, a monster truck, and a huge gorge happened.

I am a very boring person.

Do you include "I am a very boring person" in all your posts? XD Because that sounds like an awesome dream.

  6. Let's see...

My name is Copeland Williams, and as poor consol-tard, my experience with Valve came from the 360 copy of Left 4 Dead. Which is one of my favorite games of all time. After listening the the comentary, I realized how awesome Valve was. I made sure I bought Left 4 Dead 2, my faith was further rewarded.

One day I saw the Orange Box for sale ($20), saw it was by Valve, and decided to take a chance. Best buy I've ever made in my life. After becoming obsessed with Half-life, I was watching random videos related to it on youtube, I saw this thing called Freeman's mind. I watched it. One thing led to another and... here I am. Nice to meet all of you.

Nice to meet you too! An interesting story you have there.

Haha, thats the short version. So, do you respond to everyone? Do you do anything else with your day? Like sleep?

Oh yes. I do that too.

Hello, I'm Bravetriforcer. I have a cat in my lap, a bit disappointed regarding DNF's delay, and mocking those whom say they cancelled their pre-order because they have to wait an extra month. I'm not that exciting, really.

I haven't cancelled my pre-order because of it. I'm gonna be patient about it.

  7. I've seen that notice too. I'm actually kinda glad in a weird way, cause now I have time to play Portal 2 more and Duke will be (hopefully) coming out right around my birthday. Plus have you seen the Gearbox video where they announced the delay? F***ing priceless! In pseudo-celebration of this I decided to finally pick up the xbox arcade port of Duke 3D and play through that again. I haven't touched that game in, well, forever.

Well yeah, it was a funny video. And my response was meant as a joke.

  8. I wouldn't want him to do another FM series because he wants to do machinima's with other games/sources. He says so in most of his announcements. But if he does, that'd be sweet.

I agree. FM is mostly what he does when he gets stuck on what he's usually working on. It's actually more of a sideproject.

  9. As long as no one posts any links to illegal software or hints at where to get it, discussing it is probably fine.

I believe Valve are planning to release the Source Film Maker at some point anyway, and whilst it is possible to make stuff with the leaked version, I've heard it's very buggy and difficult to make good use of. In my opinion it's best to just wait for them to release it properly, for free.

I hope Ross Scott will be using it if it's released.

  10. I think what BTG is trying to say is that while physical copies might get damaged beyond repair, Steam will always allow him to redownload his games on a new comp or HD in case the old one crashes.

I have never had any of my games broken beyond repair. My old copy of Quake 2 is scratched to hell and back but still installs without hiccups. If you take good care of your games the natural data degradation will be the end of them, and that process takes decades, even then you can make iso backups of the games (At least the ones not crippled by illegal malw- errr... I mean DRM.) or make a new CD/DVD copy.

And if you store the CD's in their cases, they should last a good while.
