Alright I'm at the gates of Nightmare difficulty.
LET'S FUCKING DO THIS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

-
I've already finished 3 levels in Scourge of Armagon.

Dead Space is awesome, no idea what people you've met but me and my friends all agree the games are really cool. Kinda like The Thing in space, which is awesome.

Exactly.
One of the main reasons is that I loathe center-gun shooting. (and all that those games entail) Q2 has right/left handed shooting.
Quake 2 was the first id shooter to feature that, I believe. Even let you choose whether you wanted the gun on the right or left side of the screen.
Though the center-gun style to me is more nostalgic.

The combat in Fallout 1 & 2 was such a turn off for me that I don't care as to what I may be missing out on.
+1
When running as a gun-toting dweller from the start gets you killed by the first rat you see because you can't hit the damn thing, there's something wrong with the mechanics of the game.
That's just oldschool RPG mechanics for you, and that's what the Luck stat is for.
The combat in Fallout 1 & 2 was such a turn off for me that I don't care as to what I may be missing out on. I also think the setting is boring as hell too but I digress. To each his own. I guess the fact I grew up with Fallout 1 and 2 allowed me to kinda get used to those games.

Never did play Quake, but did Q2... I'll play that for the anniversary instead.
Quake 2 is good too, but that's not the anniversary, lol

Watch_Dogs - Love the story, love the gameplay, kickass game if you leave your expectations behind.
Deus Ex: Invisible War - Wouldn't go as far as to say I love it, but I did enjoy it.
Mass Effect - Specifically the MAKO portions. I loved the exploration and found the controls fine. NO idea why people bitch so much about it...
Sonic CD. I get why people don't really like it, but I liked it when I played it. I like the US music, another point of contention, and the gameplay is the same as the first one. I guess it's a case of it's the same, now it sucks but with time travel.Seriously? Sonic CD is hated? I thought everyone loved it.
Fallout Tactics:I really don't get why Fallout Tactics got as much flak as it did. It's genuinely the only old Fallout game that I enjoyed playing. The combat is functional and not half-assed like with 1 and 2.
While I agree the combat in Fallout 1 and 2 was a bit clunky, it's probably because those games weren't combat centered. They were turn based RPGs first and foremost. Tactics isn't in the same genre really.

Quake day for me. I might play through the expansions, never did that.
