It's actually when a show tries new things or introduces new plots they become cancelled. People like repetition and the familiar. But in general I think it depends on the structure of the show itself. Soap operas and sitcoms are more easily structured for repetition.

The YouTube ads don't bother me that much anymore.

I only played NFS series on my PC. Underground, Underground 2, Most Wanted, Carbon, and Undercover. I'm not that into racing games, it's just fun to drive and mod your car

Those games are alright, but definitely the weaker points of the franchise.

 

I've not played a lot of racing games, but I have really enjoyed Dirt 2. It looks lovely and is fun to play.

I think I've tried that. It's an alright game.

 

The franchise itself, is I think, losing its touch already. Every time a new game spawns every year, nothing really new was introduced. The NFS MMO is a bad idea imo.

 

As for hot pursuit, I've seen it and I gotta say it makes me want to play that game.

Hot Pursuit is the first GOOD NFS game I've played in ages. I suggest you try it. But yeah, before Hot Pursuit, I was really scared of the direction of the franchise.

The show was good for a season or two, before it became a redundant repetition of the same theme.

 

Come on, that show wouldn't reach 8 seasons if it was redundant and repetitive, right?

Jemp... some shows on TV reach 12 seasons by repeating themselves.

I think the movies are awesome personally. They're not thought-provoking or intelligent in any way, but damn good fun.

You can't really compare Freeman's Mind to any other sort of Mind series. The others will always be a bit ripoffs to me. But I can still enjoy them a lot. Next to Freeman's Mind, I'd say Shepard's Mind is my favourite.

The show was okay but nothing great.

I really recommend Need For Speed Hot Pursuit, the new one. It's really bringing the franchise back to its arcade roots.

Need for speed: Hot persuit 2

I remember when that came out. Honestly that was the last good NFS game until the new Hot Pursuit came out.

I just re-heated some pepperoni pizza from yesterday. It was a nice breakfast.

Currently, I'm hopelessly addicted to Need For Speed Hot Pursuit. It's hands down the best racing game I've played.

Without further info saying that really says nothing. What version of the Catalysts are you using? I am using 11.1 and latest beta of ATi Tray Tools.

When I click "About" in Catalyst Control Center it says I am using version 2009.0918.2132.36825. But what on Earth does that have to do with it? Maybe I just have different drivers?

I have a HD 5770 myself and it runs all my games beautifully at either max or very high settings. It is using the same power supply I used to power my old Geforce 7900 GTX so this thing can't be all that hungry.

 

But be careful of ATi cards, ever since their 10.5 drivers legacy OpenGL has been pretty much completely broken. I have to use source ports for Hexen 2, Quake 2, etc. that have a more modern renderer. But other than this all the games I throw at it work great and run smoothly.

That's strange. I don't experience any problems with Quake 2, Hexen 2 or even GLQuake.

That's good though. I think we can enjoy the small forum feeling a bit longer.
