Was it by any chance Isle of the Dead? It's the only FPS I know with a lot of palm trees at least, lol

Deus Ex: Revision mod
I think it's really, really cool. Some people seem to think it fixes things that weren't broken, but i think its WAY more atmospheric. Especially the hublevels like Hell's Kitchen and Hong Kong seem much more alive and less "game-y" or "arcade-ish". Not that Ion Storm didn't pay attention to detail in the vanilla game, but it simply features more assets and has less hardware limitations, so they went crazy with making places look like there's actually things happening there. Labs look like they're used for research instead of having a table with a token microscope and a computer. Hell's Kitchen has more than 3 buildings, etc.
Agree 100%. It doesn't necessarily fix anything, it just enhances an already great game.

Prospekt, god this mod is terrible. Wouldn't recommend playing it at all.
Yeah, I've read the reviews on Steam. Made me decide to stay away from it. I wouldn't care if it was free but even $10 seems overpriced for it.

I'd get emulators if I was at all interested in using my phone as a gaming device. Problem is that touchscreen controls just sucks most of the time so I really have little interest in investing money and time into it when I already have a 3DS and PS Vita.

Either Deus Ex or Skyrim
Just out of interest, the time of the original or the time of Human Revolution? And i'm assuming you chose it because you would (want to) get augmented yourself?
OT: Like i said in the Q&A Thread, Mass Effect. Maybe it's just a huge emotional attachment to the games, but i still believe it would be amazing.
Well, both the original and Human Revolution take place within times of extreme terrorism, riots within Detroit (and possibly many other areas, too) and overall conspiracy-esque events, regardless of what organization they used to represent a new-world-order theme(in this case, the Illuminati).
Let's be honest, chances are if you choose a world that is filled with violence, you'll want to get in on the violence yourself. Otherwise, you're going to live your life as it is now but with possible advancements e.g. 100 years into the future. That's how I feel, since the only difference in the world of Deus Ex, for the most part, is the current violent events. Aside from that, living in a world that is dealing with the questions that come with technological advancements that go so far as to enhance your natural body beyond its current evolutionary stage is something that would interest me a lot, whether not I truly understand what it would mean to be apart of such an ordeal.
I'd probably be some kind of augmented mercenary.

... huh, I guess it's like choosing if I want gray death or augmentation sickness. I guess HR since it's closer to our own time.

Uniqueness. Popularity is short-lived and overrated anyway. Besides, being unique can make you popular.

Garry's Mod with a side order of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas or IV.
Just wondering, btw: Shouldn't this be under the Gaming in General section?
Probably Gaming in General. Moved the topic.

Deus Ex 1 is an amazing game for its time but has its quirks for sure. Human Revolution really did adress some of those issues I think.
Invisible War is a decent game, but feels like a huge step down from Deus Ex 1...
