  1. Really, I can't recommend SotC more. :)

And yes, you are climbing BIG things. The fifth colossus is a gigantic bird that you have to climb on while it's flying. Look it up on Youtube if you want, but I'd suggest not spoiling the epicness for yourself. That's not to say the fifth is the biggest though. The final colossus is the size of a skyscraper, and you can certainly feel that.

My favorite part of the game myself is the journey to the colossus. You basically ride your horse through the landscape, but it's just so utterly beautiful. There's a land bridge to the south west that overlooks a cascading field of waterfalls, next to a cliff bordered by a thick forest. It's seriously one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen in a game.

BTW, 3 more days before International Awesome Day

  2. But what are they?

Well the first game you run around dragging some white chick that black shadow guys try to throw down a hole. You also have a stick to smash stuff with. :|

Ive never gotten further then when you get up ontop of the castle for the first time, some flying shadow ass kept stealing the white chick and flying off... I stopped playing around there.

Sounds like you were expecting something dumb. I guess Ico isn't your kind of game.

  3. I know that like me, everyone else is counting down the days until Ico and Shadow of the Colossus are rereleased in HD. (Who wouldn't be?) Currently, as I'm sure everyone knows, there are only 4 days to go! :D

In the meantime, I thought I'd start a discussion of the games here. One of my favorite parts of these games are the hidden elements of story that they contain. I actually once wrote a pretty long essay on the connected histories of the two games and their influence taken from ancient mythologies like Hebrew. :geek:

Anyways, I always admired this series for being so artistically out there yet concrete and understandable.

  4. @Eedobaba

Sometimes I think this philosophical question can counter argument that:

"Are we wasting all life, studying it, when we really should just live? Is the sole purpose of life, questioning life itself?"

It basically means that even though studying life isn't a bad thing to do, living life for the purpose to study it seems like a paradox purpose (Existing to find out why you are existing)

My opinion is that if you die not understanding anything about your own existence, what have you actually accomplished? Trivial achievements based on life itself have no proportional meaning if you don't understand the medium therein.

  5. What's the point of living if you're doing so with eyes closed? That's always been my opinion. We only have a series of decades in which to experience the world in which we live, why make up stories, giving up your only opportunity to see the truth?

I get it when people seriously believe these things, that's a different issue, but I think most religious people understand that their beliefs aren't true, they're just a fun way to pass the time. :|

  6. I love my ps thwee controller, and I have tried numerous times to get it working with PC games. It's unbearably difficult, and requires a ton of third party drivers. One of which only uses blu-tooth access, so my plan of using the controller via USB wasn't going to work.

  7. I seem to be the only Sniper in the universe who prefers the vanilla rifle...

It seems to me that all of the vanilla weapons are in averaging respects "the best" and all other option weapons are specializations.

Well not all. Some findable weapons change the way the weapon plays entirely. Things like the Charge n Targe, the Huntsman, and the Sandvich come to mind most obviously.
