I've never been very into handheld game systems, but the "Ps Vita" is kind of interesting in that it's the first time really that a handheld has kept pace graphically with current generation consoles. There are actually simultaneous releases planned of Ps3 and Vita titles.

Anyway, I'm just interested personally because it has an Uncharted title.

To be honest, I think Michael is being cynical and cold with that statement.

 

But I won't start any flame war here or insult him in any way. My point is that people aren't just physical beings. He has a point about gender being a physical thing but it's really a lot more complicated than that and gender can be a very abstract thing to some people, especially those who feel they have been born into the wrong body. I don't expect him to understand that, since he clearly has proven his inability to do so.

I'd say the opposing point is that gender and sexuality are separate. You seem to be relating gender and sexuality in a way as to read his point as being that gender AND sexuality are entirely physical, which I think is not his point at all.

I think he means to say that one shouldn't think that their consiousness is inherantly one gender or another, because as gays have taught us, there are no actual laws that connect genders with sexual orientation. Gender is a trait of physical identity. Sexuality is a mental trait, and they are separate.

Aristotle postulated the Law of Identity: A is A. This is quite ingenious since it order to dispute it, you actually have to accept it.

 

This pretty much means that reality exists independent of consciousness i.e. things have an identity and don't change, even from consciousness to consciousness.

 

How is this relevant? In practice, this people who say "I'm a woman trapped within a man's body" are deluded. Reality and nature gave you the body of a man; it's irrelevant what your consciousness thinks. It doesn't matter if you think you're a woman; you have penis. A=A, Man=penis.

While you're kind of messing with the logistics of what is technically a metaphor, I get what you're saying. A person's consciousness has no gender, because gender is a physical trait alone. A person can think whatever they like, it doesn't make their mind any more male or female.

I seem to be the only Sniper in the universe who prefers the vanilla rifle...

 

I love me some noscoping, and even if I don't charge that much, I don't like the BB because I often charge if a Heavy has me in his sights.

 

Medics are also ripe for fully charged shots considering how valuable they are, and pro Snipers often pick off Medics with bodyshots.

Well, charged bodyshots are even more powerful with the Machina. Medium classes like Pyro can be killed with 1 bodyshot.

There's also the fact that it can delete entire folders. Imagine losing Program Files or Music. THE HORROR!

Of course I have my whole C drive backed up, so it's pretend horror.

This program will be used less than Netscape.

sticky jumper + rocket jumper + the GODDAMN machina = 3 bucks

gotta resist the temptation of spending money with in-game features...

I hate how the sticky jumper isn't craftable (within reason) or dropable.

All I can suggest is going in blind and not taking any help from the outside. It makes for an extremely challenging game.

Though I recall Riven on steam being ridiculously glitchy, hope they've fixed some of it since I last played.
