  1. We have 4 buildings in total. The Main building which is pretty big and is about 143years old. Then we have a smaller building across the street. And 2 really small ones which these kind of container buildings with like 5 rooms in them.

  2. That's just it. My sister's laptop has a passlock on it, which my mother controls. The family PC has a passlock on it, which my parents control, along with admin privelages, so I can't download Steam. Besides, I doubt any PC in this household could run Gmod. My sister's has troubles with TF2.

I used to not be able to get into the family laptop because of a passlock, then I found out about Konboot.

  3. This is mostly a console gripe, when games don't let you customize the controls. Would it really be so hard to let you assign your own buttons? a lot of games don't have what i would call bad control, but have one nagging feature which I could easily rectify if i could custom assign buttons. A lot of games offer a robust list of alternate control schemes, but not custom option, so that if there isn't a single one you like you're screwed. A few games use their control scheme as a marketing point, and it may look good in an ad, but its always best to just let the user set up what works best for them.

Yeah, I have never understood why so many console games don't allow you to change controls, I mean I can't think of any reason why it would be this way.

  4. Sorry for changing topics but I have a question. I kinda want to get into Star Trek, but the franchise has fricken millions of Episodes and a couple movies. Any advice on where to begin?

It depends on your tastes I guess, it's a vast issue. I'm not really a fan of the original series, but I quite like one of the movies that followed it; I particularly enjoyed Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. The Voyage Home was a little strange but not too bad either.

In terms of series, I probably like the Next Generation the most, although there are a fair few episodes in it that I don't like. There are also a lot of episodes in it I do like. I think there are at least a few episodes of it I haven't seen though. As for the films that follow, they were okay, although First Contact is the one I prefer the most.

Star Trek Voyager is quite good as well, being from the same sort of 'era' as TNG. I've not seen all of the episodes for this either, in fact proportionally I've seen a lot less of Voyager than I have of TNG. The premise is also quite different which is nice.

I've not seen Deep Space 9, what little information I know about it has put me off watching it. It sounded like it contained most of the elements that I disliked in the episodes of TNG I disliked. That said, it does apparently have an interesting story ark which involves some sizeable battles or some such.

Finally with Enterprise, I'm aware this series polarised a lot of fans. In general I enjoyed it, but like with TNG and Voyager, there were episodes I both liked and disliked.

The only reason I mention the 'there were episodes I liked and disliked' thing frequently here, is that having seen Stargate SG1, Atlantis and the Battlestar: Galactica remake, I liked virtually all of the episodes in those series', with only a select few episodes I didn't like.

Finally, with the new movie 'Star Trek', it's a great movie which I enjoyed. It's a reboot, with the characters of the original series but a new cast. I'm quite interested in seeing where they go with this.

I realise I haven't really recommended a starting point here, I'm hoping someone more in to Star Trek than I am can do that, but hopefully I've helped somewhat in giving you an idea of things. :)

Alright thanks, I think I'll start with one of the movies first to get me an impression.
