  1. Why mention gun crimes specifically? As far as I (And the ones that die) are concerned, it doesn't matter how you die, it matters if you were able to prevent it. The fact of the matter is, people are able to kill each other. Are you going to ban knives and fists too? What about cars? Anything heavy? If you want to stop crime, that's sure as shit what you're going to have to do, although that assumes you can get them away from the criminals in the first place.

The nice thing about guns is that it levels the playing field. Do you think that if a man breaks into an old lady's house that she will be able to defend herself with some well-placed Taekwondo kicks? Or do you think she could scare him off with a $100 .38 Special snub-nose? What if two men with knives break into your house with the intent to rape your wife and daughter? If you have a gun, they're screwed. If not, your family is.

If you're a criminal and you want to rob someone, are you going to rob the man with a Glock 17 on his hip, or the liberal home owner who is well known for not owning any guns? Guns don't punish crime, they prevent it from happening. Why do you think the police never get mugged? I don't need a chart to show you that.

Also, I'd like to direct your attention to this.

    http://www.nationmaster.com/graph/cri_tot_cri_percap-crime-total-crimes-per-capita

Total crimes on a per capita basis, not just gun crimes. As you can see, the UK still ranks higher than the US in total crimes, despite much stricter gun laws. It doesn't matter if I'm getting shot or getting stabbed, I'm still going to die afterwards. The moral here isn't the cause of crime, it's how it can be prevented and what does not prevent it.

Haha, this is where you are wrong,

    1. With knifes there is no accident killings.

    2. I can fight off a guy attacking with a knife

    3. It takes a lot more crazyness to kill someone with a knife and there is a high probability you will just injure them.

Although Ukraine and east europe in general is pretty high, you have to consider that Ukraine's average HDI right now is 0.719 and USA's is somewhere near 0.85-8.

    5. The rest of the crime statistics are thefts, sexual assaults, copyright infringements etc, which obviously we have a lot more here due to our culture but that doesn't have anything to do with guns.

    6. Only Britain and Finland are higher then United States, the former a Neo-European Country and the latter a small population and known alcoholic country :) ....

    7. All the crimes reported to the court?? Horrible statistic. In Ukraine noone even reports sexual abuse, it 's pretty normal for a boss to somehow sexually harass some worker. And that's everywhere in europe. Lots of people prefer not to report then to report. So the Crime per capita statistics might just be showing how many people actually report crimes to the court. Seeing the british as orderly people I can imagine lots of them do report instead like maybe in Russia where you would deal with a situation yourself a lot.

    8. If in your opinion your system works, then sure I don't mind. :). I don't know much about the US crime rate but I do know that Ukraine's system is still somewhat corrupt.

Actually I'm not going to try to help your country anyways, I'm just showing the statistics. I'm not going to try to intervene.

One of the best modern classical pieces I've ever heard. I'd recommend it to anyone with ears and/or a taste for modern classical music.

It's a song about how we basically poisoned the earth with our pollution and how we attempt to send astronauts to other planets in a desperate attempt to keep our species alive. We then realize that it's too late, and we beg for a second chance.

I swear by my Terra byte collection of music that he took most of those string melodies from various other artists I've heard.

Anyway, I don't know but I've never really cared for the message in the track. I mean sure I do like it when it's something smart but it shouldn't make the musical piece better.

Here is my chillout when I don't listen to EDM:

  4. Let's not use mexico as an example of failure for specific subjects/laws/regulations, mexico's government in general is a failure, so stop trying to demote gun control just because mexico's gun control doesn' work. I mean the same thing happened in legalizing marijuana topic, someone brought up mexico, and I thought, Oh god another thread where someone's gonig to use the failures of mexico for the better judgement of the subject overall. Just stop, all countries in Europe have decent gun control. In Ukraine we are also limitied to what weapons we can legally have. Anyway, I hope my point was made.

  5. But we can't discuss this subject unless we understand what god is and since that will bring a debate of atheists vs theists here I am out of here, it was a nice start while it lasted hehe.... :)

  6. Where God came from, how he came into being, why and what he is are all the questions which inevitably lead those who don't believe in him to sneer at the simple fact that we don't and can't know, as if that single bit of information is reason enough to damn the entire system of belief.

And that is the first theory.....

  7. Well as I said, I call both god as I refer to god as the drive/cause of our universe in which case it can be various things.

I do this because there is no "word" like "god" in science to the cause and drive of our world, also because most people understand me this way.

I stated this before, that very many disagreements come because of the misunderstanding of the word "God", it's really the biggest mistake in the english language. The three official defintions of "God" contradict each other in certain ways.

But I use this word, as I said, because there is only one such word for the thing (drive, reason, and cause behind life) unless you can provide me an alternative scientific word. We don't know what it is scientifically hence maybe the loose definition.

EDIT: Also as I understand the third position is in our head so it doesn't count.

  8. Most of these are just the end of humans, not the end of earth. If I'd guess what the actual end of the planet will be, it's sun expansion.

The end of humans will likely come in the aftermath of nuclear war, when the remaining humans die out in the ensuing nuclear winter. Nuclear apocalypse already almost happened a few times in the last century.

Oh man you clearly didn't rad my post in the beginning, it's actually about the end of humans and earth as we see it, re-vote :)

@Brad that's what makes this topic fun, will we survive the 5 billion years? Will we not? Will we survive aliens.... etc

Has anybody thought of the possibility of a resource drain end but then (By that time) humans from other planets re-terraform the earth. Hehe, that would be a close one...

@Figunaye I would be honored to die by Vogons. ;)

  9. Pray tell how by force of will and intention that in this container (in which there is nothing), we bring something into being.

I'll explain it to you immediately after you explain how God got there. ;)

Because the truth is, whatever explanation works for God will work for the universe.

(Except for the fact that current mathematical theory - which I will admit is wayyy beyond me, and I'm not going to drag a theoretical physicist in here to explain it to laypeople - suggests that thanks to how incredibly WEIRD the universe gets on the quantum scale, it may just be possible for the universe to have created itself. Wiki m-theory if you have to.)

As I said before, God exists, the only question should be what god is and whether there is a point in our life. And since there is so many fake messages from "gods" left on earth I believe that either god is intelligent and omniscent but diverted us from the truth with all these messages on purpose or that god is not intelligent and omniscent but rather a law/rule/force that drives our universe to be.

  10. It will end the day after Gabe Newell releases Episode 3

We must look forward to prevent this event from happening then. I will personally get a squadron of ukrainians on this, our job will be to create the ultimate borscht to feed all the squadrons from the world. I will assure the country of mexico's squad will be to assasinate Gabe on the day of the apocalypse. The british squad can make us tea to enjoy the rest of the day.

  11. How do you think the earth or more specifically human life on earth will end?

I don't know if this belongs in the serious topic section since it depends how you think the earth will end actually :P

  12. Can we lock this thread, it's getting disgusting, I believe this issue of either god is there or not is purely philosophical while the issue of evolution vs creation is scientific but due to the fact that some people are unconvinced by sources of evidence and have other popular sources saying otherwise it also becomes philosophical.

Yes, people can have different opinions on this knowing the same amount of information.

To sum this up, all the evidence sources for evolution are in the prior pages, all the arguments against are also in the prior pages, decide what you will accept and what you won't and move on with life, seeing the way things are going I don't think anyone can bring any more information into this thread, so I'm going to ask the admins to lock this thread.

  13. Ihres Deutsch ist nicht so gut Ich muss sagen.....

  14. So your mother is from Yugoslavia?? Your main impression of the Soviet Union is from Ayn Raid living there during Stalin's regime??

That's is pretty deep-biased I must say, hence I cannot further debate with you.

Also because we cannot agree what the word capitalism means and are not willing to change the meaning of it.

I have to say I've studied the Soviet Union very much, and I have been to Canada, I prefer today's Ukraine to the Soviet Union but I also prefer many soviet laws and ways of life to the laws and way of life today since we now have too many alcoholics, western drugs, bandits.

Also SU >>>>>>> Yugoslavia in price and salary statistics.

  15. I think all producer/DJs should primarily concentrate on DJing, I mean the taste in music is the most important thing you want to preserve and promote to other people.

Productions are very important but sets by people such as S. Leger, Sven Vath, Slam, 16 Bit Lolitas are really what keeps people makng these productions.

Even for me (I produce and Dj as an amateur so far [trying to get proffesional]) Djing is more important.
