  1. Today I saw a Lambourgini parked outside of a Quizno's. One of the most incongruous things I've ever seen.

(For the non-Americans, Quizno's is a hoagie shop.)

I saw about 10 different lamborghinis in my life....

  2. Screaming Orange Leaper, my omniscient and omnipotent pet cat created the universe, complete with the illusion of age, a week ago Tuesday. Everything you think happened in your "PAST" is just part of the illusion.

He speaks to me, and has directed me to write the "Gospel According to Leaper, a True and Acurate Account of How the Universe Is and How to Properly Obey your Cat Master, and why Photons are carried on the backs of Infinitely Tiny Invisible Unicorns, and the Way in which Teapots Orbit the Sun." which should be out sometime in 2012, assuming I can gather up enough gold to emboss the pages.

YOU CAN'T DISPROVE IT, SO IT MUST BE TRUE.

    OBEY THE CAT GOD.

    Cool story bro..... :P

  3. I would never buy a Ford or the Dodge...

They seem like muscle cars on an ugly frame.

Almost remind me of Bulldogs, it spits a lot but isn't smarter then the other dogs nor elegant but that's what I think

The Mitsubishi on the other hand, has a charm to it.

Especially the Dodge Viper in my opinion the most overrated car in the world.

  4. Where is this notion of destruction coming from? The greatest minds in our world aren't the largest portion of killers and destruction seeking maniacs.

And does seeing something inferior make you want to kill it?

I don't know of anyone within my relations that has felt that way about any disabled person, whether within my relations or outside of it. A disabled person is cared for, not sent to execution. Or at least that is the modern world.

Let's look at it this way:

Why do we even have wars?

Disagreement in culture, rights, etc and the surge for power

Would a smarter person disagree with us?

    Most likely

    Do smarter people want power?

I think it depends on not intelligence but corruption or disagreement. See first point.

Even without wars, wouldn't we vanish steadily just like post above yours if we allow a smarter human species to reproduce. Remember neanderthals? I think there is only one place for an intelligent and social species on a planet. By the way I should publish that theory with support if no one did yet :o. The one intelligent social species on the planet theory.

  5. volkswagen-golf-gti-1.jpg

My dad's old car is my dream car... he sold it now but it used to be red with sexy nfs underground style yellow and greensih stripes on the sides too.

I just love this car, I feel like I have a connection to it... It's my dream pet.

  6. 1. I know what MAD is... in fact history is one of my favourite subjects, that sort of insulted me...

MAD however, is both a defense at the level when no nukes are deployed, but once nukes are deployed it's a destruction of the world. Let's not forget this is still due to technology.

(If I don't know something I will research it and/or type it here, but don't tell me to research something, because you assume I don't know. You've done that several times...)

    2. Ok, let's just assume it is although I don't know how you can be so sure of that.... The best Kevlar in no way matches the best assault rifle.. The best Tank is crap compared to the best land missiles, the best fortress can be defeated by the best artillery.

    3. Pollution is an indirect technological consequence, I don't care though wether it's indirect or direct, it will happen, it's not like I'm blaming technology for it, I'm just trying to see if we should prevent the indirect wether that means stopping technology in that subject or not. Or rather, since we probably won't prevent technology, it's something necessary for humans, I'm trying to see what I should tell my kids on that matter, whether I should prepare my family for this type of shit or not.

And what you said about "Real life doesn't work that way" just sounds ignorant to me. Are you saying it's an impossible thing to create something smarter or better then we are? Look around you, everything invented is in one way better than us. That's the purpose of invention. Look at your computer, it can calculate much faster then you. If we make a human that's better than us in being human... well think for yourself, he will do what we will do.. just better.

  7. My goal was bird:

Random Article got me to the most boring and short page ever.... I suggest not checking it out.

Ciecholewy, Chojnice County > Village > Farmers > Chicken > Bird

Since this goal was boring I decided to do a second one:

    Duke Nukem was my goal.

    Random Article got me to:

Catoblepas > Age of Mythology > Single Player > First Person Shooter > Duke Nukem 3d

I found the second finding the second one even more boring.. -_-

  8. One of my friends was a complete retard who blew my graphics card once by putting in the wrong wire in a slot on the back of the computer.... to be honest this was a few years ago, and I don't know how something like that can even happen now as I try to remember it... but I do remember that he tried to stick the wire into any slot on the back (Actually attempting to put it into any slot by force) of the pc since he thought that would solve the lag problem of a game....

I also remember that after that the electricity of the apartment went down, so I'm guessing he put a wrong wire in the Power supply....

Since that day I never allowed him to come to my apartment.

This was in Germany by the way.

  9. What you guys seem to forget is the perfection of DNA concept.

What if scientists could make a DNA (By altering the human DNA) that is much smarter then us by altering the genes, or something that can live much longer then us? Or something that can't get any diseases or when it's wounded, it heals itelf very quickly.

IS the counter weapon going to be even more powerful altered DNA?

What if our experiment outsmarts pretty badly... it knows how to destroy us or survive for a long time...

How are we going to treat it... as a human... or a clone?

The effect on morality is one thing I'm afraid of the other is that this shit could really be a danger.

I'm sure that, by the time we perfect it to that extent, we'll also be able to "get out of it", as it were.... like I said earlier, if they build a better mouse, we build a better mouse trap. Remember: Just because they advance doesn't mean that we won't.

The problem is, we my not be fast enough for the solution and then the other problem is wouldn't the clone make his own solution to that solution?????? And we would lose in the end since he is smarter or "more advanced".

As for examples were we did something that harmed us before inventing the counter.

    1. Nuclear weapons, if someone launched one now we still have slim chances of countering it and that's 50 years or so after invention.

    2. Weapons in the army do not keep up with the armor in the army generally.

    3. Pollution still cannot be reversed artificially after 200 years or so of invention of pollution.

  10. Those scream jokes always give me bad imaginations... please... stop, stop the madness.

On DasBoshit, they do know how to film for sure, and even if they're jokes are sometimes silly or immature, it doesn't mean the producer is dumb.

Everyone can get to silly or immature jokes once in a while.

Overusing them in my opinion is wrong.

  11. What you guys seem to forget is the perfection of DNA concept.

  12. Hey speaking of "Mind" series, this may be the new mystery episode!

I am convinced that it's not the mystery episode, this is not an episode and watching the progress bar, this wold be done in one take and wouldn't need any sound editing, filming, and all the things on the progress bar.

  13. If you are visiting Ukraine through an international airport, trust me, you will visit Kiev ;).

And Pripyat is about 70 Km from Kiev!

I have to warn you about one thing.... the airport is still from Soviet times so you might find it and the atmosphere bit... small and primitive... There is only one exit lane, so at the exit people surround it like the red carpet....

Also don't be scared of statues of Lenin. lol...

And open communists with red flags.

  14. Alright, so that's cool, since we discussed our own theories and the big bang a lot now, let's stick to putting new theories here, if anyone has any. Like the entropic ( ;) ) force theory.

Anyone else have suggestions, feel free to post, explain the view. :)

We all just want to know the truth, progress our own philosophy or me personally, just thinking about it is enough.

Sorry for acting like the guy who made the topic Dan

  15. So I wrote the script and recorded the dialog and now the time has come for the hard part, moving the ideas on paper to Hammer.

    1. I'm trying to drag a motrocop corpse on the floor. There's no need to see who's doing the dragging so a simple move from A to B would suffice. Of course, I tried to use a func_tracktrain and a prop_dynamic with the cop model. The problem is, it looks unnatural. The cop is stiff and the drag is too smooth plus I can't delay the startforward output. I'm setting the delay at 6 seconds but the game doesn't care. It just starts on spawn.

The best way would be to use a prop_ragdoll because it's not stiff but I can't parent it to the tracktrain.

I would like the drag to be like this: move slowly, stop, move slightly faster out of frame. How should I set the tracktrain to do this?

Is there any way I can make this move look natural or do I have to settle for this crappy stiff looking slide and why doesn't output delaying work?

    2. The second problem is vehicles. I will be using a custom car model that was created for Gmod from the SCars pack. I copied over all the folders except the "lua" and imported the car into Hammer using a prop_vehicle. The problem is it has no wheels. How can I attach the wheels to the car?

    3. Later on I will be trying to throw an NPC out the window so I would like to know how can I brake a window. Will a phys_impact be enough to blow the galss away or do I need something else? Do phys_impacts affect NPCs as well?

    4. Lastly, so far, I want to make NPCs point guns and shoot at certain targets (props and NPCs).

That's basically it. I'll post more problems if I run into them. Thanks!

Hmm, well I only worked with the GoldSrc engine.... I'm sure others can help with points 1-3.

However the last point, in GoldSrc you need to use the entities scripted_sequence or ascripted_sequence, check how to use here: http://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/Scripted_sequence

Place an NPC entity then place the Scripted_sequence entity where you want him to stand/walk/run to (If you want him to be at a fixed position) or just choose none in the "Move to" section of this this sequence and then just make him face a target (Use the Y X Z Circular tool with the line to the right of the properties of this entity)and make him repeat the "shooting action"... don't forget the override AI.

Sorry if this is outdated and in Source it's different, then I just wasted your time, but I think the sequences are done very much the same.

  16. Good to see a german here,

herzlich wilkommen zu dem forum :P!

Your theory is very close to mine at the current moment :)

To WonSul, you are saying that our universe came from unstable conditions.

But unstable conditions are just a condition of something, not the "something" and unstable conditions aren't able to make something themselves, there needs to be an ingridient of everything in our daily world, including movement, gravity, progression, time...

If you don't believe there is a cause in the universe or have no reason to belive there is a cause behind the universe, then I understand, you can be atheist.

To all folks who do have a theory and acknowledge a cause, a reason and movement somewhere of the world, I did my research, guess what, you are a theist even if you think you are atheist because a real atheist doesn't believe in any causes. It's a motto of "shit happens" :) (Not to mock, just a joke phrase)

  17. Some Christians would beg to differ with you.

Once again, you're positing an "intelligence" when you refer to God...a sentient "being" as it were. Christians state that "God made man in His own image". Therefore, God is necessarily human-shaped.

I posit that the "driving force" is completely "unintelligent"....or, rather, LACKS intelligence. It isn't sentient and didn't create this universe for us.

Monotheists (and polytheists) believe that there is a sentient "being" that created this universe for us, directing its creation for us.

    It's not necessarily so,

take this very popular philosophical monotheist consideration:

Monism is the metaphysical and theological view that all is one, that all reality (including God) is subsumed under the most fundamental category of being or existence.

Monism is to be distinguished from dualism, which holds that ultimately there are two kinds of substance, and from pluralism, which holds that ultimately there are many kinds of substance.

Monism characterizes pantheism, panentheism, and some non-Christian concepts of an immanent God. The concepts of absolutism, the monad, and the "Universal substrate" are closely related.

Monism is further defined according to three kinds:

Idealism, phenomenalism, or mentalistic monism which holds that only mind is real.

Neutral monism, which holds that both the mental and the physical can be reduced to some sort of third substance, or energy.

Physicalism or materialism, which holds that only the physical is real, and that the mental can be reduced to the physical.....

....see also Christian anthropology Christianity strongly maintains the Creator-creature distinction, and so firmly rejects metaphysical monism. Christianity maintains that God created the universe ex nihilo and not from Himself, nor within Himself, so that the Creator is not to be confused with creation, but rather transcends it (metaphysical dualism). God is both transcendent, and immanent. Immanence is possible due to the Christian doctrines of God's omnipotentence, omnipresence and omniscience, and due to God's desire for intimate contact with his own creation. Another use of the term "monism" is in Christian anthropology to refer to the innate nature of mankind as being holistic, as opposed to bipartite and tripartite views.

    http://monistic.askdefine.com/

Check out that site, you may find yourself to be a monotheist after all

    I'm guessing a henotheist maybe?

    That's enough for today.

As I said earlier, I believe a lot of atheists just don't know the true position of atheism very well.

By the way my agnostic-atheist friend is considered an actual atheist, he doesn't apply to any monotheistic doctrines or philosophies. ;)

  18. Remember God is only called so in the christian bible because the god in the christian bible doesn't reveal his name.

So ultimately, I think you just don't understand that god isn't a bearded man.

Simply said an atheist doesn't only not believe there is a bearded man but also has to not believe:

    Choose official definition of God:

    1. as a powerful, human-like, supernatural being, or as the deification of an esoteric, mystical or philosophical category;

    2. the Ultimate, the summum bonum, the Absolute Infinite, the Transcendent, or Existence or Being itself;

    3. the ground of being, the monistic substrate, that which we cannot understand, etc.
