RE 4 was a good game, but after I beat it and got the Tommy gun i beat it like 26 more times, and then sold my PS2, so....yeah, its actually pretty easy. RE 5 is a different story though

 

Did you by any chance unlock the Hand Cannon? Apparently that was the most powerful gun in RE4.

You can 1hit kill a garrodor with one of those, but it's nothing special, there's the PRL that's a 1hit for every enemy if you give it a 5 second charge, and if you just fire it it's like a flashbang, so I'd say my favorite overpowered weapon was the Plaga Removal Laser.
