  1. So there's a MLP:FiM comic coming out, all hand drawn by the same guy who did these next pictures. Let's just say I'm intrigued.

Oh, and Double Chuck, Guess what?

It's starting to seem that half of my posts in this thread are just me bragging. I should really try to cut back.

  2. Also, Shiny, I need some kind of code to play this. Unless I get one from signing up or something.

Sorry, I thought that link bypassed that, but apparently it just remembered I knew the code. It's "hubmlp8bit"

  3. Two unrelated things:

    1. you should all play the mlp8bit game. It's actually a really good game, not just thrown together. Nice difficulty curve, good sound, good graphics, no bugs. Here's the link.

    2. My pics from bronycon are online. They're just massive. A few are good sizes though. the first is from the traveling pony museum, the second was an amusing sign (though all of them there were clever).

  4. What is it that you enjoy/that makes you people watch My Little Pony (ie do you 'simply like it' or do you have more specific reasons)? I do not mean this statement in a hostile manner, I am merely curious. That and some crazy theories, although I will admit I have not seen any of it beyond random 'meme videos' and whatnot posted on various forums.

From my current perspective it does not appeal to me and indeed is not even designed for my age group and gender. I'm interested in what you people say on this.

EDIT: Also...what's with the current subject of conversation in this thread!?

For most people it really is as simple as that it's really, really good, and they really, really like it. In every way that you could judge the quality of a cartoon(voice acting, animation, writing, character design, music), this passes with flying colors. People who say "there are references that only older people will get!" are just trying to justify it (James Bond and Sherlock Holmes references are extremely common in any cartoon), and people who say that it's okay because of all the action are the same.It is entirely meant for little girls, but we can set that aside to appreciate the quality alone. As for why we get so fanatic about it, I have a few theories: the fact that we like a girl's show is such a jarring notion that we need other people to verify that we aren't nuts; we compensate for it's girliness by being extreme devotees; the show itself instills values that we feel invites us to join together as a group, and talking about the show is secondary to being with friends.

    I would suggest either

or this video if you'd like to hear more.

And to answer your edit question, we are discussing some leaks about plots and returning characters in next season.

  5. GAAAAAAH I DONT WATCH SPOILER CLIPS BUT IT'S BEEN SO LONG AAAAAAAAH

    Screw it.

    *watches*

Hey, Spike singing! And each of those three things listed would be awesome. I'm just interested to see what they do with Trixie.

  6. I'm fairly certain he lives in Wisconsin, though.

Same rules here. If your parent says so, you can drink. And this is Wisconsin, the cheese and beer state. I have been on 3 brewery tours and go buy a brewery every time I walk the dog. I've only ever had one beer, though, and that was under extenuating circumstances. The fact that I don't drink shocks many people. Everyone at my college drinks.

but I think that makes your dad the coolest dad known to the forums.

See my posts in the vent thread to know why he isn't.

But just because Whooves challenged me, here are some facts about my dad:

He grew up on a farm, once built an actual working ballistic canon that he fired with home-made gun powder (he owns a copy of the anarchist cookbook, I've flipped through it myself). He left the farm when he joined a band, switching between keyboard, guitar, and lead singer. He has a degree in theatre and one in some computers thing. He currently does 3D animations (working on one now for the teen choice awards), has written books on the subject, and is in the final steps of a feature length movie.

  7. Either he's really curious what you would look like drunk, or he wants you to "hook up" with one of your sisters friends.

Everyone, myself included, wonders what I'm like drunk. But no, all of the girls there were taken or live in New York. He just hates that I don't get out of the house at all, but that's because all my friends are 200 miles away where my college is.

    Your Welcome... I think

I don't even know any more.

  8. Today my Dad indirectly told me I should drink Vodka so I could socialize.

*My sister and friends show up*

Dad: Why don't you go join them.

    Me: They're pouring drinks.

    Dad: Well join them.

    Me: No, they're pouring drinks.

    Dad: Go join them.

BTW I'm 19. Also I didn't end up drinking. Also one of the guys who drank was a year younger than me.

If it weren't for Doc. Whooves that would probably sound outlandish.

  9. Well crap, I won't work. I guess it's one of those YouTube vids that won't play on my phone. :(

It's got licensed music, so no, probably not. On a related note, my latest PMV is the first one I've made that hasn't linked to the song automatically.

  10. I rewound the video because I was like "Wait what? Was that Murdershy's knife?" Haha.

Anyway, I certainly mean what I said in my video comment. I predict a solo post on EQD.

Off topic, but I've been meaning to ask: What happened to your old account? And Why is your new account under a completely new name?

  11. Thank you all. Whenever I finish something I always feel like it's terrible right up until I start getting compliments. Then I remember it's the greatest thing ever. I lost steam a lot near the end, though I'm fairly proud of the 2 musical interludes (the cockatrice/dragon showdown that I thought matched up well, and when it's heavily implied Fluttershy beat up Rainbow Dash for picking on her).

Fun fact: Fluttershy stomping to the beat of the song was purely coincidental.

Also I'm curious how many people realize that the knife at the beginning of it is a reference to murdershy from the .MOV series.
