  1. I actually didn't like this episode at all. It seemed very Dragonshy 2.0

    This.

Literally all the Fluttershy episodes (and the Gala episode and the Season 2 premieres) are about Fluttershy getting angry and defeating some mythological creature (though in green isn't your color, she gets angry but doesn't do anything with it but tap a vase).

The only reason this is different is because she defeats him after becoming nice again.

At first I was like "oh hey, spotted Derpy."

But then I was like "whats that on her saddlebags?"

And then I was all "AUGHWAHUGHSAODNINBWUBBNDSAIODBB."

Well, I think I'm done with the Derpy debacle. She admits that she changed it not from peer pressure or political correctness, but because she genuinely felt bad about it. I now know that a lot of thought got put into the situation, and that she does not know if it was truly the right decision. That's good enough reason for me to no longer feel betrayed.

And hey, what do you know, Derpy's name really is Ditzy Do. But then it got changed to Derpy. But then they decided they didn't like that name. So really, we're back to square one when it comes to what her real name is.

But I will always call her Derpy and the original scene will always be what I think of her.

  3. Well they didn't. First of all Derp or derpy is not an insult and never was. Pretty much everytime I see the word derp used, it is used in a playful manner usually by the person who is "derping" themselves. All it means is clumsy, THAT'S IT.

And the parents, first of all, I doubt any parent would know what derp even means.

Thats the problem right there. Parents don't know that derpy isn't offensive. Can you honestly say that calling someone derpy after making a mistake wouldn't sound like an insult if you didn't know the meaning? Its kind of like when people complain about calling someone a ho, and how some people just use that as a word for person, not an insult.

Anyway, don't unspoiler this till friday if you want it to be accurate.

  4. So from what little I know, they've minorly redone about 45 seconds of the opening of the Episode The Last Roundup and people are up-in-arms as if this was a complete decanonization of a large swathe of Bronydom?

That is because those 45 seconds made a fan made character cannon but was changed

I don't think Derpy was ever truly cannon. Here's what happened, Derpy was born, someone discovered Derpy, named her Derpy, fans caught on, the creators of the show caught on, and did a little experiment, they called it "spot Derpy" then they got the idea of giving Derpy an actual scene, fans backlashed, hated her voice, and wanted a fix, so the creators fix it, and again the fans backlashed, hate her new voice, and want the old one back. Really it's just a bunch of Derpy fanboys and fangirls that just want to hate.

You best be trolling. Very few bronies complained about her original voice, and we know for a fact that it wasn't changed because of fans not liking it, but because of political correctness. But this is the internet, so of course a lot of people are just angry to be angry. Me personally, I hate this because it took one of the greatest moments from the show for me and treated it like it was something bad. Its not "ruined forever" because you can still get the uneditted version (even officially on DVD), and Derpy isn't gone/dead because she's still appear like she had been prior to Last round-up. I just feel a little betrayed is all.

    From Hasbro:

"The 'My Little Pony Friendship is Magic' series has always been about acceptance and inclusion, and the series strives to convey that through the playful antics of a diverse cast of characters," Hasbro spokeswoman Nicole Angello told us over email. "Some viewers felt that aspects of the episode 'The Last Roundup' did not stay true to the core message of friendship which is the heart and soul of the series. Hasbro Studios decided to make slight audio alterations to this single episode."

  5. Reddit article explaining a few things. One thing it pointed out that I never realized: we hear "Careful, Derpy," but the unknowing hear "Careful, derpy." And since its Rainbow Dash, it is entirely in character for her to call her derpy as an insult.

I am still adamantly opposed to this, though. I think that even if Tabitha thought she was male, the voice worked fine. And "lessening" the eyes without completely undoing them just seems stupid and doesn't make sense, and makes me feel like either they didn't put any real effort into it or couldn't commit, both of which are uncharacteristic of them. The trademark thing is complete BS though.

  6. Trying to refrain from breaking my screen. Never gonna finish this project if after effects crashes every time I try to import a .wav file. <_<

You keep talking about after effects, I hope one day I get to actually see something you made. I'm very much interested.
