It could also be more expensive because, if you're selling a proprietary piece of hardware, then you're not going to sell as much than if it were a mainstream piece. So it would make logical sense to price it higher to compensate for the demand and make a decent profit.

EDIT: After some research, I've come to the conclusion that Sony is (stupidly) withholding information/specifications on its memory cards. This action probably has kept some people from purchasing a PS Vita entirely.

You shouldn't jump to conclusions without doing basic research. Trigun Maximum was released after Trigun, when the original magazine that published it died, and so it is a continuation under a slightly different name. Similar deal with Rozen Maiden and Rozen Maiden II. That's the meaning I intended which I thought was obvious if you knew or looked up the title of the series.

Nightow changed publishers to Shonen Gahosha and the series continued to be serialized in Young King Ours magazine. Due to the original publisher retaining the name Trigun, Nightow had to change the title to Trigun MAXIMUM, which isn't a sequel; just a new name for the rest of the same series.
