  1. Could be misdirection the other way as well.

That's idiotic. Hamas took credit for worse incidents, a "mere" kidnapping would be worth some propaganda for their fighters and would scare Isreal.

    That's possible.

I would not put it beyond someone in Mossad, say, to arrange for three poor sclamazels to be sacrificed for the good of the nation. After all, Israel has been spoiling for a fight since Fatah and Hama's announced their alliance. It is not inconceivable that they would consider such killing as the necessary cost of war, if it allowed them to misdirect the blame to Hama's.

I hope it was not the case really, as that wold be depressing.

    Regards

That's a conspiracy theory. Idiotic, in other words.

  2. Iraqis are making another offensive towards Tikrit and the operation to retake Mosul dam has succeeded. Some good fucking news for now, if it wasn't for the fact that ISIS is beheading captured US citizens in response to the air campaign. Make of that what you will.

EDIT: Tikrit offensive is a failure, suprises nobody.

EDIT2: Shia millitias attacked a Sunni mosque and killed everbody inside. I'll try to find a news artile on it.

  3. And yet you haven't provided proof, only conjecture. Kidnappings don't have to occur in the most active location for them to be connected to a particular group.

And Hamas took no credit. One would think that they would praise this act to the high heavens, yes? Well I guess they DID praise it, but simply said "We didn't do it. We wish we did, but someone else beat us to it."

  4. I have been saying that all along... But from what I've seen and hear, the Palestinians are doing it against the Israelis, and the Israelis are doing it against the ones that are hostile in the first place. (meaning Israel has the moral high-ground IMO)

Moral high ground my ass. The kidnappings didn't really happen near Gaza, and so far hundreds of people were arrested and there was a huge crackdown on Palestinians, prompting Hamas's rocket attacks. While fundamentally wrong, it would seem Hamas is attacking out of Israeli provocation.

  5. No one ever said they did... There are always reasons, whether good or bad there are always reasons. Also, bear in mind that "I don't like what that person looks like" has been a valid reason for killing for many for the past several millennia in all countries. (and even happens frequently in the USA today, they just aren't very publicized)

Then you accept that this is true for both sides in the conflict, yes?

  6. You haven't made any point that I can see... All I get from what you've said is that you think that we're somehow so much better than them by nature, which we aren't. (we merely have a decent legal system that actually works)

My point was that people don't go around killing civilians and committing war crimes for no damn reason.

  7. Because everyone feels entitled to kill the people they decide they don't like.

Then why haven't right wing fundamentalists in the US started major terrorist groups and started creating death sqauds against the people they hate? It may have something to do with the fact that they aren't treated like second class citizens and are left in poverty.

  8. About bloody time...

Another result of US-Iranian cooperation, I wonder? The US: "We'll cancel your tickets!", the Iranians: "We'll cancel your life insurance.", Maliki: "Alright, alright - I was just kidding!" :-)

    Regards

    One can hope right?

  9. If people really want to stop this war all they need to do is to condemn the missiles that were and are being shot to israel.

Except I do condemn Hamas firing rockets into Israel. I have no sympathy for a group of al-Qaeda wannabes. I simply feel that we cannot ignore wrongdoings by Israel simply because they are fighting terrorists.

I also want you to answer this question: why is Hamas popular in Gaza?

  10. Militants includes not only those that are armed, but those that actively support those that are armed.

That designation is killing civilians. A lot of people in Gaza support Hamas or some extremist group or another to the point where, by that definition, everyone and everything becomes a target for Israeli bombs.

  11. Both.

How did they determine and confirm the latter? How did you confirm the story's voracity? And what do the writers consider "militants"? (this could be radically different from the definition given by the majority of the world)

Ah, couldn't find them. I think the definition of militants would be "armed people". Not sure about the other questions.

  12. Seems the US has been getting involved, if only taking a minor role.

I already posted news reports on the recent bombing runs on ISIS. What should happen is increased support for the Kurds, because, let's face it, "free" Iraq is collapsing under the delusions of a madman. Let's just hope ISIS doesn't take the Anbar while Bagdad burns.

  13. The country is up for grabs now and he is trying to get as big a piece for himself and his backers as he can. He will not give away any of his power to anyone now.

    Regards

Let me go for the record and just say that Maliki has given ISIS victories that would be impossible with anyone else in power. Fucking idiot...
