  1. I feel like I may be one of those friends, and if I made you feel that way I'm sorry. The last 4 or something messages you sent I was away from the computer (like actually away, not my usually forgot to uncheck away when I get back thing) when you sent them and by the time I got back you logged off. :S

I seemed to have developed a nasty habit of just letting my computer run even when I'm away for like 1-2 hours.

i wasn't talking about you specifically

i know you're a busy person and like to be alone

Why would you want to do anything involving people?

    I shamelessly second this question.

Not everyone is a misanthropic edgelord, believe it or not

  2. I was unaware the goal of journalism/news outlets was to be funny.

Unfortunately some "Journalists" try to blend together entertainment and information with mixed results. They do this to appear "hip" and "with the times". I hate this because it can lead to a compromise on the information presented for the sake of some gag/joke. I say can because some people are able to maintain a balance between entertainment and information. I have no problem with them. But As far as I'm concerned unfunny "Journalists" should shut their traps, stop trying and actually give me the information I came for in the first place.

Honestly. I don't care for journalism in the first place since nowadays it leans more towards being argumentative than being informative, but that especially doesn't clash with humor. That's where you end up with shit like CollegeHumor and Buzzfeed.

  3. Nobody wants to play anything with me, talk to me, anything

    Have you considered the following:

    A) Sometimes you have to contact them, instead of waiting for them to contact you

    B) They're busy at/with work/school

    C) Maybe they're not interested in the same games you are

    D) They don't currently have the game(s) you have, and are interested in playing

    E) Their computer is being a dick, and everything they've tried to do to fix it has resulted in failure, and the only option left is saving up for a new one

    or

    F) Something else that's hindering them from being on Steam/PSN/Xbox Live/Miiverse

    A) I wouldn't be having this problem if I wasn't contacting them in the first place

    B) I would know if they're busy when I'm the one contacting them

C, D) I only ever ask people to play games with me that we mutually like

E, F) Even though they're available on Steam, and maybe just got done playing something else

    Have you considered the following:

    A) I didn't come to this thread to be berated about something I'm already upset about

    B) I have more than one friend to talk to or do stuff with

    C) This isn't just about not having people to play with, I'm just lonely as shit

    A) Sometimes you have to contact them, instead of waiting for them to contact you

    B) They're busy at/with work/school

    C) Maybe they're not interested in the same games you are

    G) They're too tired/hungry.

    H) They have other plans.

    I) They don't feel like talking/playing games.

    J) They hate you, or at least secretly despise you.

Way to reiterate why I feel like shit

  4. I know this probably shouldn't irk me at all, but I hate seeing people on DeviantArt who favourite nothing but the mainstream popular works. Come on guys... DA is for sharing art, for growing artists, for people wanting to be greater! Stop ogling over the professionals that already get mountains of love and find something else to admire. Be a part of that uplifting spirit, dammit. It's not hard. Go on to the home page, find some art you like, and favourite it. It's not that hard, and it makes somebody's day, especially if they're a fairly new artist. When I was first starting out, one favourite would mean the WORLD to me. Actually even now a single favourite from a random stranger feels amazing. XD

Just seeing somebody favourite stuff and comment on things that already has 420 comments or whatever just makes me want to snap a pencil. Maybe I'm hating on this for no good reason though, I dunno. Maybe I'm a bitch.

DA stopped being about growing artists whenever they started featuring only popular works on their main page

The Know, so unfunny they make Reviewtechusa look like a goldmine of humor (among other things like editing skills)

I was unaware the goal of journalism/news outlets was to be funny

I was also unaware that humor factor had an effect on the merit of what they say

  6. Resident Evil 4.

I played this game to death in highschool to the point where me and my friend were competing to see who could beat the game on Pro first without using any cheesy strategies such as RPG on the difficult bosses. I went back to it recently and the controls just frustrated me and little of it had that same feel I remember. Could just be that the time I tried to go back to it was really stressful and all the clunkiness of the game frustrated me more than the game entertained me but it certainly didn't feel good.

You get used to it actually

My problem is the game has a locked framerate, so unless you have a PC that can run it at above 60fps in all parts you're going to be playing in slow-mo which is really annoying.

I recently beat the whole game in a single play session, slow-mo and all, just a testament to how much I still love the game I suppose.

  7. So lately I've been playing old games. Some hold up, some don't and I would like to talk about the ones that don't

    Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

I've been going through the old Elder Scrolls games, namely Morrowind and Oblivion. While I can say Morrowind still holds up Oblivion does not. Which is funny because Oblivion is younger than Morrowind. Oblivion is like Morrowind except with significantly less freedom. You can't kill everyone, there's invisible walls, Levitate, lock, mark and recall spells are gone. Customization was a huge part of Morrowind for me but what's the point of making your own custom spells and gear when you can't do whatever the fuck you want with it? Most important of all is you can't break the game as you're far too tied down by balancing constraints which kills another large portion of my enjoyment for a game like this. Overall Oblivion is just a generic, linear, slog which is sad because there are some aspects of it that are really good like the soundtrack and the subtle atmosphere. But unfortunately that isn't enough to save the game IMO.

    I feel this

I love Morrowind to death, but Oblivion is just way too hard to get back in to nowadays

The way they made Skyrim, it's likely to have the same pitfall when it ages

  8. Literally is starting to grate on me a bit thanks to Leafy.

that's why i stopped watching him, it's like hearing a robot repeat the same ~10 words in random order

i don't get how he has 5 million subscribers

His fanbase is 13 year olds who think things like "420 blaze it" and other stupid shit like that is cool, funny, and like him, adds a swear at every other word.

I never really make fun of youtubers' fanbases but I have to say leafy really caters to an edgy teenage crowd, there's no substance to his humor and the only way you could digest it is by being an edgy halfwit teenager
