What happened between 2011 and now? It's only been 5 years.

His vines are those #sorelateable, trite filler vines, and as much as I hate to admit it, there are some actually. . .good vines out there. Like, at least Thomas Sanders puts some effort into what he does, Sartorius just does some whips, nae naes, and gets millions.

It may have been relatively complete when they showed it, but in implementing the other systems necessary for the game to function as a game instead of a demo, it may have broken something in that content that couldn't be easily fixed... Hence, cut content.

The problem is how much content was cut, there's no way they cut that much content because it was buggy or not working properly, what they gave us was half-baked at best and it was falsely advertised.

In any case, that's still terrible business practice and basically false advertising.

Probably normal stuff in the industry though, you shouldn't put incomplete content in your game if you're not going to actually implement it right away.

What I take from what I've seen of it compared to the promise, is that they were unable to meet their deadline because they stupidly set it too soon. Because of this, they released a late Alpha, or early Beta instead of the final product.

 

Unfortunately, most devs would take the money they made on this, and move on... It remains to be seen if the devs are actually going to finish the game, or leave it to rot.

Alien and distant, I've joined other gaming based forums like this one to see if I have any common grounds with other people and can relate to them through gaming. I realized that doesn't work at all. Once I got down to specifics such as skill levels, preferences and the video games themselves I eventually realized I couldn't possibly be anymore different from everyone on this forum. Outside of the love for gaming I feel like can't truly relate my thoughts to anyone because they aren't on the same level as I am. Most people are moderate when it comes to gaming and there's nothing wrong with that. But I'm nonetheless worlds apart from most people and there's nothing I can do about it. I'm an obsessive scholar stuck in his ivory tower desperately clawing his way out in the hopes of knowing that he isn't alone in this world. But the outside isn't meant for his kind and he feels this in every fiber of his being.

Pretty shitty, I won an argument on the internet today, except I didn't win anything and burned a bridge in the process. I love games that let you break sequence, especially Super Metroid and Dark Souls.

The simple fact that you can beat every boss in Super Metroid in reverse order with enough time and effort is amazing to me.

even if this game had 1% of the attention it got, players didn't get what they paid for and what they were promised

i expected the same pitfall starbound had on release, i.e. procedurally generated worlds being the same planets basically recolored, but the difference is starbound was a $15 indie title and NMS is a full priced $60 game
