Can't wait to play it tonight

I've often thought about getting into the LP and Stream stuff. I have a lot of friends who could help me out as a large portion of the people I know I've met through following streamers/LPers on Twitter and streams but always get that little bit of social anxiety that stops me from fully committing.

I have trouble expressing why I dislike this game. It's just strangely uncompelling for me. Around the time I got to control a squad and assault the Combine fortress, I had lost all interest and motivation for moving on. I don't know why but the game is just incredibly uninvesting. There is just something about Half-Life 2 that feels like a stepback from Half-Life 1 which I absolutely loved alongside Opposing Force. The Gravity Gun being the only interesting weapon and the lack of brutal gibs like in Half-Life 1 may factor into it, but not that much. I guess since I wasn't exactly a gaming fan during the time it was released, I may not realize the full impact it had on the industry, but I would never really want to play through it again.

I used to feel the same way, the gunplay in HL2 is complete ass in comparison to HL1 and OP4

But it grew on me over the years, story-wise it's actually pretty amazing

BTG, mate. i really get hate against EA, but at least be objective about it. EA itself has made (and also published) some great games that are still great today. Some great games were made even 14 years ago.

EA has a history of being fucking awful but they've improved A LOT over the past couple of years

How much info there is on this? I have only seen that one trailer with narration which shows absolutely 0 in respect of the actual game. Is it going to be a slightly upgraded CIV5? Beyond earth was such a disappointment - just a mod for civ5 tbh.

there are some pretty huge changes, including pseudo-unit stacking and districts that make cities occupy more than 1 tile

i'm assuming certain world wonders are actually tile improvements now, but i'm not entirely sure

also judging by the world generation civ 6 seems to be running a slightly different engine

it looks stupid- too cartoonish. They probably are going to try to push it out on tabs & maybe even mobiles as well, but probably do it so badly its going to fail.

Shame really, as features look promising.

i'd definitely say it looks more realistic than civ 5 even

and civ 6 has no place in the tablet/mobile market, that's where their smaller releases like civ revolution go

I'll leave Bad Company 2 as a prime example of why you're not exactly right here, BC2 doesn't have the biggest playerbase but it sure as hell is alive and kicking and has next to no hackers in my experience, even today

As for Dice, I have enough faith in them to not fuck BF1 up, especially after they gave BF4 much needed support after Hardline's release.
