A relatively lean white guy sings Old Man River (a folk song almost invariably sung by African-American men with cavernous chest resonance) and absolutely nails it.

Username, you will probably love this guy solely for his hair.

Judging by the thumbnail he looks like Will Ferrell mixed with Django with an afro.

  2. Dark blue and black are my kind of colors. Red's nice too. The darker, the better.

Bright and high contrasting colors actually hurt my eyes. Lavender's the one exception because it's more soft than other pastel colors.

  3. To sum it up, "Gamergate" is a misogynist shitshow.

A bunch of fucking manchildren wanted an excuse to complain about the feminist movement, so they took a tiny fucking issue and blew it out of proportion. Shit, gaming journalism has been corrupt for years, why do people only start to care when a woman's genitals are involved?

  4. Battlefield 4. I called it a night after I took a random pot shot at a helicopter with a sniper rifle and brained the pilot. No better way to end it than with a salty helijockey trying to report me for hacking.

The way this whole post was worded just makes me really happy.

  5. I've never actually properly used a rep system. Are there any effects of getting upped or downed?

Also, are these custom titles ones we can create, or are they more like ranks for post count? I liked that a lot in previous forums.

I liked the rep system because back when we had it, it sorta encouraged that whole "quality over quantity" thing for posters. It didn't do anything in particular, but you could find out why people did or didn't like what you said.

Though I will admit it isn't exactly necessary, I do think this place can handle it, so long as Alyxx's rule #3 is enforced.

And yes, user titles were customizable.

As long as I can eventually upload an avatar and customize my profile, then I'm cool with any theme.

Personally, I'd say let's put the UCP issues at the forefront, and then worry about themes later. One's broken, one's not.

    Just my opinion, though.

Thing is, the theme itself is for an outdated version of this site's software, that's gonna have to change and the reason we have for worrying about it is making sure the forum still looks nice.

  6. My girlfriend is having a breakdown, and there's nothing I can do about it. She just realized today was father's day, it's 10 PM, and she's over a hundred miles from her father's grave. That's huge for her, I can't even describe it. She just keeps crying, and all she'll say to anyone is "I need to see daddy." And I just have no clue what to do.

There's something romantic about going with your girlfriend to visit her father's grave.

Not romantic in like a relationships way. More like in an Edgar Allan Poe romantic way.

Not like the Edgar Allan Poe romantic way of marrying your 13 year old cousin. More like romantic in an American Renaissance sort of way.

Jeez, really should have thought about that more than not at all.

    hi srake!

  7. On a religious level, females are meant to be the companions of males. Not slaves. Not minions. Companions. A loving partner to cherish and keep safe. A lot of feminists misinterpret this and respond with: "I belong to NO man. I'm an independent woman."

    I think they're all big jokes. X3

I always thought that biblically, women were PROPERTY of the man and were there for housework and procreation. Then again you're probably more qualified than I am to talk about that matter, since I'm not religious myself. Either way, the whole "independent woman" thing isn't really "I belong to NO man" so much as "I don't NEED no man".

  8. Good cause, bad people. The reason so many people don't want to associate themselves with the term "feminist" nowadays is because the more recent batch of people taking up that label seem to think acting against the movement as a whole helps their cause. If these kind of people want men and women to be treated equally, I'm all for men and women alike coming along and treating these annoying fucks the way they treat men.

And that example from Jurassic World isn't really sexism, I watched the scene and thought nothing of it (though my sister thought it was hilarious how she needed 5 shots to kill the damn thing). Realistically, a common man would've done the exact same thing in that situation and the female protagonist IS a pretty common woman. Chris Pratt's character is just an all-around badass, as expected from Chris Pratt. If anything, It's a breath of fresh air seeing a woman in a successful business/science career since women seem to be a minority in pursuing those kinds of things.

  9. It really isn't, and it isn't nearly as annoying as you think either. I remember one hilarious instance where I was playing in a lobby with some of the biggest names in TF2 (B4nny, Lauren, Stabby, and STAR_) and we ended up getting steamrolled by a hacking heavy. The whole ordeal was more comical than it was frustrating.

  10. Excuse me, but I own a firearm. Most of my family owns firearms, as do all my neighbours and friends. Guess how many people have been killed by all of these firearms combined. If you guessed zero, you were right. 99.99% of gun owners are responsible, non-violent, productive members of society who have never used their weapons to harm anybody, and they are perfectly safe if properly handled.

99.99% seems awfully off-the-top-of-your-head for that statistic, especially considering the fact that "responsible" does have a grey area. Honestly, "responsible" gun owners shouldn't have anything to fear when it comes to tighter gun control, all it does is make firearms less accessible to criminals.

And before someone pulls the "criminals don't follow the law anyway" card, keep in mind that many common criminals don't have ties with the black market since accessibility to that is probably tighter than accessibility in legal gun trade.

  11. I actually have plenty to say, but I wasn't about to drop into an argument hosted by a dick to do it. However, that is entirely off topic.

It's about as on-topic as your fork comment, and keep in mind nobody in that thread was being a dick.

  12. We're still allowed to critique based on what it appears until an official statement otherwise denounces or confirms what we see.

You're also allowed to stick a fork in a power outlet... Doesn't mean you should.

It's really like you have nothing else to talk about. You're comparing forming an opinion about a game based on what's seen of it, (a totally reasonable thing to do, mind you) to the act of frying your insides and killing yourself. You may as well admit you're wrong at this point. It's like you ditching that TF2 argument because you didn't have jack shit to say in your defense. Fact of the matter is, there's a lot of hype for Fallout 4, people were wanting a Fallout 4 for years and now they're getting one. You and everyone else trying to defend this game are only doing so in the fact that Fallout hasn't seen a sequel in nearly 5 years and you want your fix no matter how fucking garbage it is.
