    Subject #22 - Audience towards Diversity

    (This one's gonna be reeaal touchy. So if you're sensitive, get out. XD)

     

    I'm mainly picking this subject because I'm kinda wanting to ask a question and get an answer for it, rather than know people's opinions for the fun of it. The question is, what would YOU do if you were creating something for a large audience... would you...

    1. Feature all sorts of diversity, in colour, and sex, at the risk of pissing off the racists and homophobes.

    Or 2. Keep diversity minimal as possible, at a risk of pissing off the people who go; "Why isn't there a black person in here, you rascist!!"

     

    In the economy, nobody gives a shit if you're a lesbian, black or even a psychopath. XD If you buy their shit, they'll be happy. Film directors ain't gonna look at their movie view stats and be like; "Oh, 3,000 homophobes watched this, 50,000 white people watched this." No, it doesn't work like that. XD But, if you were in that sort of industry, creating content for readers/watchers/listeners... what would you do?

    I'm asking this for my own benefit, really. :P Since I'm creating my comic thing, I'm wondering if I should go into the territory of creating I dunno, a lesbian couple or something. And really, at this moment in time, I'm just doing things for the views - not the diversity (YET!). But I don't know what's going to draw people in or turn them away more. More diversity? Or less? Or do you think it's even and I shouldn't give a shit about it? XD As far as my audience goes, I just want as many people as possible to like it. Once I have some solid steady digits, then I'll think about adding diversity. But that's just a plan. I dunno what'll be better for me when it comes to getting a wider audience. I mean, as far as I can tell, I don't have the statistics of how many racists there are, and how many "why isn't there this" people there are. But maybe ya'll know what I should do. :3

     

    Feel free to expand on this topic too. This could go in heaps of directions. But I don't want any judgmental harsh shit! Not even against the racists or homophobes! We're civil dammit!

     

    EDIT: Sorry if I offended anybody. :S I tend to do that.

    why is it so hard for me to record correctly? i can't get my music to sound... three dimensional? it sounds like i'm singing flat, i know i'm not, but i don't know if there's some magical setting i'm overlooking that makes fuller sound.

    Wait, Jeb's only 16? I never would guessed. I thought she was in her mid-late 20s. Never bothered to check her profile until now though.

    I can handle my partner not understanding me. I can handle my friends not understanding me. But if my parents don't understand me, we have a big huge problem. >:I I've had to put up with their shit for 16 years, I don't want any more.

    I HATE being with my dad. Why can't I have one of those cutesy families where the parents actually love each other and know how to parent?? Why can't I have somebody who KNOWS me and not just assumes that anything I do is because I'm being a bitchy teenager. Hey guys, surprise, I have fucking feelings. I know, it's a shock. :problem:

    I'm pretty much just not allowed to make any mistakes.

    I forget to turn the fan on in the bathroom. -> An unnecessary 10 minute lecture on what fans do and why they're important.

    I didn't know there was food for me on the table behind me. -> I'm called an idiot and a moron and I no longer get food.

    I switch the tab on my computer, interrupting my parent's reading without my knowing. -> I'm yelled at and asked; "What are you doing!?"

    Then my parents wonder why I'm so quiet and reluctant to go out with them all the time, they wonder why I hate myself and wonder why on Earth I wanted to commit suicide a few years ago.

    Parents are DICKS.

    I cannot wait to graduate, so I can get the fuck out of the entire state, or even better - the country. Gives me an excuse not to visit them. Ever. And what's the most recent complaint of my parent's? "One day you're going to wake up and realize how much of a little shit you were."

    Thanks... you know how to make me feel loved...

     

    Does somebody wanna adopt me? XD I'd be down with that.

    So, I'm okay with Thor defying the laws of gravity but I am not okay with a scene where a plane rolls down the runway for 15 minutes. I just begin to laugh and everyone in the cinema gives me an angry look :P

    But yeah, movies are movies, man. Enjoy it! I love seeing people being vaporized. Looks awesome. XD I know its not real. I'm just enjoying what I see and the crazy shit that's happening that I know will NEVER happen in real life. And sure, maybe 5 year olds might think it's all possible. But I'm sure they'll eventually figure it out. :P

    After a night full of nightmares, I finally had an actually nice dream. Well, it's ridiculous and funny more than anything. :P

     

    Summary: Literally had a meeting with Darth Vader and I won his respect, cause, I'm just that good. B)

     

    Well, I cheated. :P But only a little. Kinda. I was in a meeting room, everyone sitting in a circle with their fancy chairs and shit and Darth Vader was going to determine who would be his personal assistant. Lol! :D Everyone had a chance to speak and express why they think they should be hired. Thing is, I had a friend from the outside secretly speaking for the candidates. So instead of talking about the actual skills and qualities they had, my friend would force them to say more mediocre traits and just 'okayish' stuff. But for some reason, one of the ladies he couldn't mind control - and she was GOOD. Like, damn, this girl was the epitome of an assistant. But before I even really had a chance of thinking how to beat her, I was told it was my turn to speak. So I did... and the first thing I started talking about is how she's a liar. XD Saying stuff like; "I've seen her outside of the workplace. And she is NOT the kind of person you want to hire. Trust me, just so immature!" And she's just sitting there silently like -_-. Meanwhile I finish my bullshitting of her and finish off with talking about the good traits I have, snot like; "I'm loyal, smart, quick-"

    "And competitive." Darth Vader added. At this point I'm probably about to start laughing so hard at the WTF of the situation and I wake up. XD But, I think I can safely say I won the position. :P Mwahaha!

    My dreams are so fucking weird. I literally haven't watched Star Wars in ages. Why??

    Amazing accidental stunt reminds me of one thing that happened to me...

    One day I had my cousin over my house, and I was chilling in the kitchen with him and my sister. He opened the top cupboard and unexpectedly, three cups decided to be bitches and fall out. Somehow, SOMEHOW, I reacted fast enough - me, the short little girl, shorter than everyone else there, with my short arms and two hands, caught the two glass cups and let the plastic one fall. How I managed to identify the difference between plastic and glass, whilst they were falling, and still have time to catch them, I will never know. XD That was the day I realized I was half cat, I think. My cousin and sister just looked at me like O_O "HOW DID YOU DO THAT!?"

    I felt like such a badass. B)
