  1. Discrimination is very common against the white male, simply because of the quotas to hire the minorities. (these quotas are so that companies can get massive amounts of government money for free, at least in the USA) Females and minorities in the USA are given better initial pay offerings and benefits to entice them, and it all revolves around getting paid by the government to not hire white men. (a white man and a black man apply for the same job, the white man is perfectly qualified and experienced for the position and the black man has no qualifications or experience at all, the company will hire the black man, same goes for any woman)

One can interpret a prejudiced sentiment in this, but it is not explicitly promoting discrimination against minorities. It's tricky and a fine line, as Lord Sinister says. What I see here is a rather controversial opinion, and is more a criticism of employment methods than a dig at actual ethnic minorities.

The "'gay-rights' assholes" comment is closer to what you're getting at, Pest179.

  2. So I can flex my thumbs back, making the tendon stick out as a ridge.

Since Thursday, my left thumb hurts when I flex it to that point (it involves a sudden movement).

I don't know what's causing this, but it's starting to worry me as I need my hands 100% for being a performing musician.

  3. Is British food really as bad as everyone says?
British versions of international food tend to be very below par the real thing. I would say "FishnChips" are quality, but it's actually from Italian descent...HOWEVER, Albert's in Ardrossan does the best Special Haddock and Chips ever known. You'll swell like a balloon if you eat it regularly, but as a treat it's wonderous!

We also make great sausages in the form of the Cumberland 'Snorker'.

The best option is to buy local produce when in Britain, that's where the real quality lies.

Do you also lament that Tesla's wireless electrical grid wasn't adopted by the mainstream, and is just now barely making inroads as wireless battery chargers?
I don't know much about Telsa, but I saw a futuristic picture once that was captioned "If the Rothschild lineage was replaced by Tesla's." Based on that, I'm gonna yeah, I lament it.

Did you grow up in a place different to your passport's 'Place Of Birth'?

  4. Apologies for the typo - I must have been about to say "my new passport" but decided to say "I have a new" halfway...

But no real plans for it yet, but this means I now have an official form of ID again (after losing my old one (three years expired anyway) in a jacket last year). I now feel confident to buy age-restricted goods again, and celebrated with a bottle of Hobgoblin - but I wasn't asked for ID, so that kind of ruined the idea somewhat!

But yeah, I can now prove that I exist again. Gonna put it in a safe place and use a provisional license from now on!

  5. I haven't really considered any of you guys introverts so far. :P

I'd say introvertedness doesn't translate too well online, as it's typically associated with preferring quieter "Me-time" over busier, face-to-face social interaction. The editorial freedom and time that comes with typing allows people (me, for one) to make sure I'm saying what I really want to say, and may not express properly in-person, due to the real-timeness of speech. (Though mistakes do happen if I'm say on a chatbox and everything is happening faster than Forum speed)
