Accursed Farms Games Giveaway Screenshot Contest

Accursed Farms Games Giveaway Screenshot Contest
Hey everyone, I have another screenshot contest this time with a lot of games to give away! I sometimes receive game offers whether I’m interested in them or not, so rather than have them go to waste, you have a chance to win some of them. Most of these aren’t top-tier games, they’re all games I either already have copies of or aren’t particularly interested in, but hopefully some of you out there will enjoy them. All games are digital copies for PC either for Steam or Humble Bundle codes.

RULES:
-Submit an interesting screenshot from any game either by posting in the comments to this post, or else emailing it to [email protected] (external links are fine).
-You can submit a maximum of 3 screenshots per person.
-Only one game can be won per contestant, so as to maximize the number of people who get games.
-You have until midnight EST of Dec. 21st to submit a screenshot. You can try and submit one late, but you may not make it.
-Winners will be announced on Dec. 22nd.
-Winners will get their pick of which game they want until there are none left. So 1st place gets 1st choice, 2nd place 2nd choice, etc.
-If a winner does not claim which game they want within 24 hours of being contacted by email or private message, they will get perpetually bumped in line behind the next person.
-While I think these all will work, since these were all gifted, there’s no guarantee that all the games are working, since I can’t check them.

TIPS:
Here are some characteristics of screenshots that are more likely to win (note: they probably shouldn’t have ALL of these):
+Screenshots that seem to raise a lot of questions
+Screenshots that seem like there’s some sort of story behind them
+Impressive action
+Slapstick humor
+Something surreal
+Something I find funny

Some characteristics of screenshots that probably WON’T win:
-ONLY something scenic without anything extra
-Screenshots you can’t appreciate unless you’re familiar with the game it was taken from, or have a lot of context
-High Scores or kill/death ratios
-Toilet or sex pose humor without something more clever to it

Videochat December 2015

Here’s the second installment of the live videochats from Twitch. This one wasn’t as full of people, likely due to the time. I tried to vary it to get different crowds, but in the future I think I’ll try and target times when more people are around. Nothing super important in this one, mostly just that you can expect more videos, I answer questions on a lot of different topics, and try to get some help and input on things. The format is the same as last time since I didn’t have time to organize something better, but hopefully the next chat will be more structured.

Anyway, this video is unlisted so as not to crowd out the others, but I’ll try and make it easier to access in time. You’re of course welcome to share the link anywhere you want.

ROSS'S GAME DUNGEON: DUNGEON SIEGE

Subtitles: English

Believe it or not, I was hoping to have this out a little bit before Thanksgiving, but this is what happens when a video turns out more complex than I planned for AND I get sleep. A lot of the time involved with this episode was getting to the points I needed to in order to show different parts of it. I had a lot of previous saved games for Dungeon Siege, but some were missing and some I was simply unable to get working again due to some mod dependency weirdness I guess. In any event, while this is hardly an obscure game, I consider it a real cornerstone in terms of influential games for me. It’s all laid out in the video.

Right now my plan is to have two more Game Dungeons this month, along with an extra video. I’ll also be having the monthly video chat on the 6th and post it up here afterwards (though it will be unlisted on Youtube).

Upcoming video appearance for a charity thing

Hey everyone, a friend of mine, Tom White (of Weird Videogames ), is doing a marathon gaming session for a charity fundraiser he’s involved with and asked me to show up for a few hours. The gaming marathon will be on twitch here and will start at 8PM EST on Nov. 20th, however I won’t be showing up until 2AM EST on the 21st and will stay there a few hours. He has some other guests also, one of the most impressive being Jon St. John (the voice of Duke Nukem), here is his full schedule . I could try and record my portion of this and post the results unlisted on Youtube afterwards if people were interested. Anyway, if you were one of the people who DID like Moon Gaming, here’s your chance for more, otherwise, I’ll be working on the movie and the next Game Dungeon in the meantime.

EDIT:
I was able to record my portion (I think), but I’ll have to wait a little while to get Tom’s footage, so hopefully I’ll have the stream up in a couple days.

Videochat November 2015

Hey everyone, here are the results of the videochat for anyone who wanted to take a look at it:

There was lots of rambling, but I went over a lot of things and answered a bunch of different questions. For those that don’t want to watch all this, I don’t blame you, probably the biggest news in this was that due to such fantastic support from the fundraiser, I plan on continuing Freeman’s Mind out of respect for the viewers. Having my back the way people have this past month has made such a difference in my life that I feel like I owe it to the audience. The downside however, is I don’t want to let this push aside the movie, so I won’t even begin on it until after I’ve made significant progress on the technical end of things for the movie, specifically establishing my animation systems and having rigged character models. Even after that, progress will be slow, but hey, more Freeman’s Mind in the future!

This video is completely unedited and while I’m making this first one totally visible on the Youtube channel, for future ones, I thought I might post them unlisted, so that regular viewers aren’t spammed by them each month. They’ll still be easily accessible from the site here however. Let me know if people have suggestions for when the next monthly chat should be, I’m leaning towards December 6th, but I don’t know what time yet.

Contact

The best way to contact me is via email. I only sometimes see Youtube and forum comments and I only use Twitter for quick announcements.

I'm happy for email from people and will try to answer questions, however I can often get overwhelmed by the volume of email I have and I often neglect it in favor of spending more time making videos. I DO read all email sent to me, but replies can often take a while. Please don't get offended by slow replies, even if it can sometimes take months. It's the only way I can have enough time to keep making more videos. If it's something time-sensitive, it may help to put that in the title. Alternately, if it's been a LONG time and you're waiting on a reply, it's okay to send me another message to remind me.

I probably won't reply to emails that are only reports of news or requests for Ross's Game Dungeon due to limited time. There is about 0.1% chance your email will be considered spam by Gmail and I'll miss it. As flawed as the process is for me, email is still the best way to ensure I'll see what you have to say. Also, be sure to check the FAQ!
