Really good! I can't recommend it enough. The story is told through Super Metroid-style scenes where NPCs interact with each other in the background. Boss fights have multiple phases and ramp up with crazy intensity.

One thing I'm sure Ross would like is that there are accessibility options (basically what we used to call cheats) that you can toggle on any time, including damage reduction, invlunlerability, and so on. The game is pretty hard which helps give it the action movie feel that sets it apart from Metroid, but if you ever get stuck you can switch those on to get through a particularly tough spot.
