Well, 99% of the climate change stuff was being pushed by Europe and USA. Recently the USA has backed off on the subject, and Europe doesn't have either the influence or the money to push it globally alone. China only ever pushed it for the USA and Europe, while constantly increasing the amount of pollution they put out, both per capita and total. Europe's collapse and China's hypocrisy are literally the primary reasons that the USA pulled back from the policies that are killing Europe.
USA is moving heavily towards a clean modern nuclear future, and it's going to phase out all the other baseload generation eventually, so long as future presidents and congress/senate don't prevent it. We've had the nuclear waste problem solved for decades, it's literally just the politicians getting in the way.
