Technically this game is a sequel to a game called "Before the Echo" (Used to be called Sequence until a lawsuit made them change it), though you don't miss a lot for not playing that one first. It gives a little more context, but I wouldn't say it's required.

 

Before the Echo is a keyboard DDR game with some extra RPG complexity. I liked it though I would say it's not for everyone.
