ROSS'S GAME DUNGEON: MARTIAN GOTHIC
Generic-User replied to Ross Scott's topic in Ross's Game Dungeon
Ah ok. Thanks for the explanation. I've never played the game, so I had a lot of random questions about it after seeing the video, which fortunately your original post seemed to answer almost all of. -
If On A Winter's Night, Four Travelers
Generic-User replied to Generic-User's topic in Ross's Game List
This one is on me, not Ross. When providing links for entries, I normally start with GOG, and if the game isn't available there, then shift downwards to Steam, etc. Since free/indie titles like this one also tend to usually have a DRM free version available at a pretty good frequency from an "alternative" source, like the one you provided, when it comes to adding entries for games like these in the future I'll go ahead and put some extra effort on those in verifying that there's a DRM free version first before settling on something like Steam, Epic, etc. Regardless, since you were willing to go out and provide a link to a DRM free copy, I've since updated the entry with it. -
After hearing a particular live version of this song, I can only ever listen to that version of it for whatever reason. I don't know where or when it was, and I've never been able to find it on Youtube, but I have a friggen .wma copy of it from a guy that was giving me guitar lessons back in 2007, and that's all that matters to me.

I wouldn't know. You could try asking him for the next video chat.

I've heard of this piece before (and the general commentary about it that goes along with any mention of it) but never bothered looking into the background of it. Interesting. From Wikipedia: The New Grove Dictionary of Music and Musicians describes 4′33″ as Cage's "most famous and controversial creation". Yeah I bet they do! I'm curious what other works are out there that are in a similar vein to this.

Unless someone has been making their own and updating it along with the master list, I don't think so. Maybe there's a way the web admin(s) could implement a feature to export the list in such a form, but I'd imagine that'd be a lot of work to create something that only a few people might ever use. That being said, I've handled additions to the list for the last year or so, and use my own spreadsheet for tracking purposes for that. It only has the entries I've inputted (~160), so it's only encompasses about 10% of the actual list, but you're welcome to it if you want it.

ROSS'S GAME DUNGEON: MARTIAN GOTHIC
Generic-User replied to Ross Scott's topic in Ross's Game Dungeon
I thought it said his name was Ben Gunn? -
Spreading the word is part of my plan to keep people off the scent of the true enlightenment van, which is the one that has the pizza shop sign on the roof of it delivering hot fresh enlightenment to hungry believers doorsteps. It must continue its holy mission at any cost. The monoliths are just a giant distraction from the one true faith.

My best guess is "DuClare Chateau". That's the part of the game where that track plays, but officially pegging it to the soundtrack itself gets a little odd here. If you take the music files from the game, that snippet appears at the very end of the file ParisChateau_Music.umx, though there's some weirdness since the track keeps playing even after it's official end time, which is where that part appears. Probably has to do with using VLC to listen to it, so maybe something more suited to extracting/listening to audio files from Unreal engine based games would be better up to that. However, the equivalent track in the official soundtrack downloaded from the GOG version doesn't appear to have that part, but a lot of the tracks appear to be remixed in some way regardless, so it could have been trimmed. I don't have my original disc copy any more to check from there unfortunately, if it was even on there to begin with. As such, DuClare Chateau (official track name) stands as my best guess.

"Allll squad leaders, coordinate with sister teams." "EOD confirms bridge, is, down." Iron Maiden: "TROYPA" I have no idea why, but for all these years for some reason I could never make out what the second word was after "computer" when an objective was completed. I just ripped apart the pak file to hear the sound clip on its own and it couldn't be any more obvious or clearer. Stop messing with my head!
