Hello, newest recurring nightmare!

Feedback on the movie seems to be mostly positive so far both with the target audience and bronies. From what little I've seen in small youtube clips, it looks alright, aside from the music not being my taste. The final thirteen minutes were pretty cool, as well. I read about all the issues moms had with the designs, and it's moronic. Maybe don't expect television to raise your kids for you? It's not Hasbro's fault if somehuman's kid is too stupid to realize that they don't need to look like the big-headed candy-colored cartoon people that aren't real. As I suspected, it wound up having a very small presence in the movie. The subplot was insignificant enough to be believable.

Can you sing it one more time? And can you do it really fast?

You're basing that assumption on nothing, though. They're alternate reality versions, that's all we know. Nothing about their experiences, development, or personality (though the trailer hints that personalities remain the same) is known to us yet.

So the people who hate this project are basically admitting that they only watch the show for ponies, as in the bare-bones concept of the animals themselves. They don't care about the specific characters, the writing, the animation, the music, or anything else that makes a work of animated fiction enjoyable, seeing as how that stuff all carries over to EG. Hasbro is apparently raping the franchise by changing the characters and setting sending a single character to an alternate world while not changing anything in the canon. I can see we've really thought this through. I also like the claim that Hasbro only did this for money, as if that's not the reason they've done literally everything else they've ever done (including FiM), being a for-profit business.

It's not a show, it's a movie, so just think of it like a really long episode.

They could just be going to the same school as Doug.

Yeah but people have been saying stuff like that since before we really knew anything about the project at all. Same voice actors, same animation, probably the same staff, basically sounds like the same alignment of stars that made My Little Pony popular with adult males in the first place. With that in mind, this seems like a really weird place to draw the line. It's like the whole fandom forgot that it was founded on open-mindedness to begin with.

I don't get what the fuss is about. It's different, sure, but it's not the normal show. Why does the fanbase have lower expectations for this than they do for the rest of the series?

If it weren't for Freeman's Mind I'd have never heard of Machinima.com. Here's hoping you find a new network that treats their content creators as well as they deserve to be treated.

I think it's ridiculous that in order to get exposure you need to join up with a group like machinima, or TGWTG, and then seemingly give them control.

You'd think it'd be common sense that they need their content creators to make money, or to have a reason for existing in the first place, so why treat them so poorly? I feel like this isn't the first time I've read about them giving Ross Scott trouble, either.

I've always thought that SFM pony stuff was a little creepy. Something about the way their faces work...

He should aim higher than TGWTG, like local public broadcasting or a streetcorner. On a more serious note, does it bug the crap out of anyone else to watch these organizations try to consolidate and control the talent on the internet?

Test the waters first if you're unsure. Direct a conversation towards the concept of bronies, gauge her opinion on 'em, and reveal information accordingly.

The animation was really close to show quality, and that's impressive. The pop culture references and brony inside jokes got obnoxious very quickly. I know the actual show does that stuff to but those writers understand moderation.

It's funny 'cause it's true. I branched out once to some of Machinima.com's other videos hoping for more like Freeman's Mind, was left wondering what Freeman's Mind was doing there in the first place.

Yeah, that really sucks. In the open letter they say it was one person. Can't say I blame 'em for not doing the open QA thing anymore though, one person is all it takes after all.

Yeah, easily one of my favorite webcomics. Can't wait to see how it's worked into SWAG.MOV.

Wow, that's... almost like the actual show. Definetely the best fan animation I've seen.
