Why's that? Because you played SS2 and had a lot more fun? Or because you thought less of Bioshock's uniqueness when you learned about SS2? If it's the latter, that sucks; it shouldn't really change the fact that Bioshock was a fun game.

Dark Souls. It's doing a good job keeping me occupied while I wait for some other games to come out before the end of the year.

BS2, in my opinion, felt like a stretch to get more story out of that place, although the game and its expansion were fun because it was the same stuff we saw in the first BS. The enemies weren't nearly as threatening this time around since we'd seen many of them in the last game and the general gameplay felt very recycled, right down to the repeated plasmids and weapon selection. So, I'm very happy to see this Franchise going away from Rapture, because then it'll (hopefully) mean that most everything will be new. I probably won't pre-order it, though. The last few games that I paid full MSRP for dropped in price within a month of their releases, and I'd rather wait and save than spend and regret spending the extra money.

I don't see the harm in them for the most part. It might provoke kids to actually have a personality instead of let their clothing define themselves. A friend of mine went to a school that was trying to enact a uniform policy. Unfortunately, the policy required students to buy very expensive clothing that most students didn't already own, and it was a public school. I don't think that's right, as it is discriminating against those children who come from families that are unable to afford such clothing.

Still playing Dark Souls. Just barely rang the second bell and fought my way back to firelink.

Half-Life, believe it or not. Played it a lot on my dad's computer when I was 6 or 7. My parents were the cool ones that never cared about the ratings on video game covers.

Dark Souls. Loving every second of it.

thx, but maybe im an absolutly n00b and what then? what i should do with that? no... i just wanna download and play! without my extratime to convert it. why you reject mp4-format? it is the same quallity with the same output file size, plus its crossplotformer (actually i dunno how good it is under *nix, but i think its still quite well). srsly, i wanna download, drop it into my itunes library, sync and go. no extra movements. and its still good for pc and mac. and ios. and linux, i think. and pc and mac, again. hear my voice! Um, the mkv CONTAINER (it is the same format) is more optimized and customizable. And to my understanding, you can drop mkvs into itunes. I wouldn't know I use linux but I think apple has the slightest bit of common sense. 'Fraid not on the iTunes thing. It makes sense, though; why support it on one platform but not the rest? Of course, there's always "why not just support it?" And the usefulness of the MKV container is debatable, especially related to the content we'll see from Ross. Assuming his video codec will still be h.264 and his audio codecs won't be anything alien to mainstream formats, and that he'll continue to insist on .SRT subtitles (which I hope he does), then there'd be no difference if the videos were uploaded as in .m4v or .mkv. If Ross wanted .ass/.ssa subtitles (which idk why anyone would), then you'd be right in that .mkv is more useful. Luckily, I'm not scared of a little command-line, so I'll have no problem extracting the streams from the MKVs and muxing them into the .m4v container with or without subtitles (not sure if I want to bother with proof reading just for subtitles). As a side note, it'd be cool if Ross would pre-tag his videos for those of us who will be adding them to iTunes, XBMC, Plex, Boxee, et cetera won't have to organize them ourselves

I liked it. A fun game to goof off in for a few hours. Never got through all seven days.

Dark Souls. Yup, I'm a glutton for punishment.

Or, alternatively, if Ross uses the h264 video codec and a .mp4/.m4v friendly audio codec, one could use MKVextract to extract the streams and remux them into an .mp4/.m4v container. That's what I'll be doing, at least; all of the fun of MKV quality without the compatibility issues

Tried them all with VLC, like most of the replied. I downloaded each file, and played them each twice in VLC. I dunno why, but VLC doesn't seem to repeat stutters on a second play for me... Anyway, here are the results I found: MP4 1st: No stuttering MP4 2nd: Again, no stuttering MKV 1st: some stuttering, but not enough to irritate. MKV 2nd: less stuttering, but still a few stutters here and there, mostly on scenes with a moving camera. AVI: more stuttering than mkv, a little irritating. AVI: No change. WMV: Stutters less than AVI but more than MKV. WMV: less stuttering, roughly the same as MKV 1st. I voted for MP4 in the poll. It's a format that a lot of devices are already friendly with, such as Apple mobile devices, set-top boxes, PS3, Xbox360 (assuming the video is dumbed down so it can play it), et cetera. The file sizes are smaller, which I think would benefit both users and the site. Plus, as mentioned for the favor of MKV, you can also add multiple audio tracks and subtitle tracks to mp4/m4v files as well. It's all in the mux, as they say Also, it's easier for users to mux the streams of an .m4v file to an .mkv container if they so desire. Muxing .mkv streams into an .m4v file, on the other hand, is a bit more painful, but still doable. That being said, I'd be able to deal with MKV's all the same, since I can always remux the streams into the m4v container for personal use.
