Yeah cool tunes, I have the gareth emery track since about 2 years ago. Although I really got confused why you chose the cosmic gate remix over the original, in my opinion much better and all time classic. In my mp3 for about a year since I discovered it !! :D

 

But I disagree, It's not love it or hate it. If you listen to the tracks you WILL like/love it. If you don't bother to listen to it properly, you won't obviously. Everyone gets confused by trance melodies at first, but then comes the understanding and appreciation :)

 

Also, sadly, quality underground trance is almost completely dead (Thanks to people like Simon patterson, arty, daviel kandi... sometimes W&W it's still alive though imo)

That's a great remix yeah. Definitely modernizes it a lot. But I just prefer the sound of the original for some reason.

That just means you like it but you have no time to get into the genre you are busy with other genres ;)

Liking has nothing to do with it, nor does "getting into the genre" as you put it. He specified "love" and "hate" as two absolute sides, without any other options.

I'm pretty sure right now the most common type of trance is progressive and tech-hype-mixed with other genres, trying new stuff.

 

I know it's mainstream and all, but I've always loved Markus Schulz's intro song for his Do You Dream album

Well, the chillout genre, to put it properly, is fine when it's mainstream. The genre is one of the easiest to produce acutally. You just write those melodies that come to your head and there is no technicality involved so there usually is not much that can go wrong in the process, hence there is no bad chillout track. They are all equally fine for their purpose.

 

 

This track bothers me all the time, every time I listen to it I love the melody and harmony, but the general structure I really don't like. And every time I try to search for a decent remix for it I fail to find one. It's sad, I really would love to see a full, nice and my taste of dub structured track made out of this... :(. In the meantime I don't bother to ruin my taste for it by overlistening to it.

I love Trance music, I don't really know of many song, I usually listen to di.fm's trance channel, they have some really good songs there. If you like trance, you'd probably like Drum n' Bass too, a great dnb song is Inner Space by Apex.
