I just hate football, the only real sports I've found interesting is fencing, archery, and hunting...

archery= fun

fencing= fun with real swords

hunting= playing god is awesome.

I call soccer 'The Beautiful Game' so as to not offend Footballers, and call American Football 'Football' so as not to offend North Americans. Somehow it works well.

Pretty proud of us Canadians though, we got a goal in on Germany in the last Womens Championship. We lost of course, but still we broke Germany's record of not being scored on in their home fields.

it means "end joke" it signals to the reader that what was before was a joke, so now the joke is over!

/joke, /sarcasm and other apt statements are rrhetorical device referencing BB code, which uses tags to begin and end effects. for example, [b]words in "b" tags cause bold letters[/b] and likewise for image tags "img", "youtube" tags, "list" tags and other things.

It's a way of indicating part of the last statement as if the description was in of itself a BB code tag, as a tongue-in-cheek joke. For example, /detail

For the worlds most popular game, association football sure doesn't have very many fans on the forum. As many others have said, I don't follow sports. (although I am in Taekwondo) So really, all I'm doing by posting in this thread is bumping it in hopes people that are interested see it and making sure you all know my mighty opinion.

I used to do Taekwondo, but I stopped once I got to blue tip because I moved house. In high school I've played Hockey but I don't care about watching either of those sports played professionally.
