Titanfall

Titanfall came out on March 11th and March 13th in Europe. What are your thoughts on it? Discuss!

 

Personally I am having a blast with the game. While I think the story is a bit lazily integrated, it does have that Unreal Tournament quality about it that makes it feel like a fully featured multiplayer game. It does seem to be its own thing instead of trying to rip off Call of Duty like I feared it would. I played the beta and knew I had to get it pretty much so I pre-ordered it at GameStop and got it two days ago and have been playing it almost exclusively since then.

The wiki page says it's multiplayer only... If that's so, I won't ever be getting it.

Yep. I can see why that won't appeal to everyone. But it appeals to me in a big way.

In fact, I think it's the first multiplayer-only game by EA that hasn't had a completely botched launch. Everything worked the day I picked it up. Though that could be because they stress tested the servers with a beta before releasing it.

And how many hackers do you think will be playing it in the very near future? Aimbots are easy...

I don't know. Remains to be seen. I haven't seen any hackers yet or at least not to the extent of Call of Duty.

From what I've seen of gameplay videos, this is just an upgrade of Battlefield 2142 under a different name... And without SP offline capability.

I thought Battlefield 2142 was shit so... I don't mind.

It has way too many similarities for it to not be based off the sequel to 2142 that EA decided to cut after it was 40% complete.

 

Honestly, if had just an offline singleplayer or multiplayer with bots, (LAN mode) I would probly want to get it, but not online only.

Yeah, I can see that. Personally I think it's an awesome game and was glad it worked on launch without any hassle or crashes.
