Blue Posted November 22, 2011 Yeah the unfortunate thing is that while it was mostly true in the past, having a degree is not a guarantee of employment anymore. This is a nice metric server. No imperial dimensions, please. Share this post Link to post
Obsidian Posted November 22, 2011 But unfortunately these days, you need a degree to be considered for jobs that really don't require them. Share this post Link to post

Blue Posted November 23, 2011 Mr. Blue: Hey here's something- Koach told me he thinks the forum is losing its charm, mostly because of mainline posting by a few select members in a few select threads Mr. Blue: and not many new threads W. Ludwick: i've noticed it too...what do you think? Mr. Blue: I also think Accursed Farms is winding down from what it was in the summer Mr. Blue: then again, most forums do through the winter Mr. Blue: But insuch I do not defend a change for the negative. Forums always change, but its possible to be for the worse. Again though, the worst way to approach the future ass-forwards in fear of negative change W. Ludwick: hmmm W. Ludwick: yea, it's slowly losing it's charm. Why do you think it is Mr. Blue: Maybe not everyone is posting at the same rate as we are. Mr. Blue: encourage others to post less frequently; like waiting hours or more between posts, or if they already do, only browse once every day Mr. Bluer: If people are resistant to that suggestion, refer them to the Addicts thread W. Ludwick: so you're saying our incessant posting is intimidating newer members? Mr. Blue: Maybe even more than that, frequenters that have less access. Mr. Blue: not everyone is a sit-at-home all day. (And I wouldn't say incessant is the right word) W. Ludwick: yea i'll do what i can in that regard. This is a nice metric server. No imperial dimensions, please. Share this post Link to post
Karl Posted November 23, 2011 I'm not sure frequent posting would intimidate new users. If I want to say something or give my opinion, I'm going to, whether I'm new to the forum or not. Share this post Link to post
Alyxx Thorne Posted November 23, 2011 I personally think we have a lot of active users, and I can only look forward to next summer. Game developments at http://nukedprotons.blogspot.com Check out my music at http://technomancer.bandcamp.com Share this post Link to post
Collective Foal Posted November 23, 2011 Wait, what happens during summer that is different from the rest of the year? Life is just a time trial; it's all about how many happy points you can earn in a set period of time Share this post Link to post
Kirkreng Posted November 23, 2011 What happens in the Summer stays in the Summer. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Share this post Link to post
Collective Foal Posted November 23, 2011 So... There's an Accursed Farmer convention in Vegas? Life is just a time trial; it's all about how many happy points you can earn in a set period of time Share this post Link to post
Blue Posted November 23, 2011 No, more kids have more free time, thus the forums are more active. This is a nice metric server. No imperial dimensions, please. Share this post Link to post

Alyxx Thorne Posted November 24, 2011 We have a winter coming in Norway at least. Game developments at http://nukedprotons.blogspot.com Check out my music at http://technomancer.bandcamp.com Share this post Link to post
Obsidian Posted November 24, 2011 No better time for cuddling than a cold winter in Norway ;D Anyway, in regards to the posting limitations, I can't see that having a good impact on forum activity. They would definitely make me less active just because I wouldn't want to deal with them :-\ Especially since I mostly post in the forum games, where posting frequently is something to be expected of any forum with a sub-topic devoted to those threads. I think the slower activity may be partially due to the time of year; even though it's winter and many stay inside to stay warm, I have a feeling a lot of members are busy with family activities (tis the Holiday Clusterfuck, after all). As someone who's been with forums from the start to the end, I can say things aren't looking bad enough here to claim the sky is falling. Share this post Link to post
Alyxx Thorne Posted November 24, 2011 I agree. I mean, it's Thanksgiving now and soon we have Christmas and new year celebrations. It's to be expected that the activity goes down a bity.
