SelfSurprise's Make-Believe Monster Manual Thread inspired me to do something similar. Based off only a character portrait who is this person?

All you need to do is submit their.

.Name.

.Their race.

.Their age.

.Their class/classes.

.Their alignment.

.The deity they worship along with the deity's alignment or none if they do not worship any.

.A few quotes the character would say.

.A bio.

You may also site races, classes, gods, etc outside of the SRD. But you must provide context for each race, class, god, etc you site outside of the 3.5 books for people who do not have access to the 3.5 books. DO NOT POST ANY OTHER CONTENT OUTSIDE OF DESCRIPTIONS FROM THE 3.5 BOOKS AS THIS WILL VIOLATE THE SRD!

Name: Syron/Re'vialis.

Race: Half Elf.

Age: 23.

Class: Favored Soul(A person that is favored by a particular deity and thus wields their divine abilities naturally unlike the Cleric.).

Alignment: NE.

Deity: Cas(Demigod of spite)(NE).

Quotes:

"It's not that I hate them for what they're. I hate them because I can. All it takes for me is to assume a different identity for the moment and I'm able to get with any crime."

"It is the false, mortal notion of right and wrong that allows me and my master Cas to thrive."

"To the humans I am Syron, to the elves I am Re'vialis. Both of them will suffer for their ignorance, I assure you."

Bio:

Syron/Re'vialis was born to a Human mother and Elven father. Instead of being given either a human or elven name he was given both as his parents thought it would be a good means for him to experience both sides of his heritage. His mother called him Syron and his father called him Re'vialis understanding they referred to the same person. For Syron/Re'vialis the notion was second nature to him. But to other citizens it did not.

The sprawling urban city he had grown up in was rampant with prejudice from both the elves and humans. His parents union was shamed by both sides outside of a handful of "sympathizers" despite their love for another and their attempts share the nuanced aspects of their individual cultures. Syron/Re'vialis was constantly mocked and hated for his well known dual nature.

On his 20th birthday he was contacted by Cas, the demigod of Spite. He empathized with what Syron/Re'vialis was going through and said that both the elves and humans deserved death for what they had done to him. He thanked Cas for his empathy but declined his offer for revenge. Sometime during the night a mob had gathered around his house with pitchforks and torches in hand. At the time he was downstairs reading a book while his parents were on the upper floor sleeping. The mob had tossed their torches on to the roof of the house and it began eating away at it's supports. Syron/Re'vialis ran up stairs to try and wake his parents but while he was running up the stairs part of the roof came loose and fell onto him. He was trapped, helpless and ultimately fell unconscious.

The following early morning arose and miraculously Syron/Re'vialis survived with all but a dislodged shoulder, twisted ankle and a few burns. He slithered from underneath the rubble all the way to a burnt, wooden chair and propped himself up with it. He sat down in the chair uncontrollably sobbing for the loss of his parents. But this sadness would soon changed once he saw the citizens outside his home.

The mob had dispersed sometime during the night. But the citizens both Elven and Human calmly walking around the streets in outside the house were seemingly unaware of what had taken place. Because of this apparent ignorance a deep, repressed rage was manifesting itself within Syron/Re'vialis's mind. Once again Cas appeared, Cas told Syron/Re'vialis that he would mend his broken body if he were to allow a small portion of his power to inhabit Syron/Re'vialis's soul. Syron/Re'vialis accepted, all of a sudden he began shaking uncontrollably and his dislodged limbs contorted correcting themselves in the process. But then his eyes sunk into a dark crimson hue and darted towards the uncaring crowd. He grabbed and unsheathed a sword from one of the citizens walking. He began hacking and flailing around into anything and everything that came his way. Afterwards a mass of bodies surrounded Syron/Re'vialis, heavily winded and panting from overexerting himself. He could here the guards coming for him. A manhole had just come into his vision and he went for it. He plunged the sword into one of ends of the manhole to in order to prop it open. He slid into the sewers never to be seen again.

Now three years later being sustained only by rats and Cas's power he has emerged from the sewers to repay the city in kind for the misery and suffering it had inflicted upon him. He heavily obscures his appearance to look human since his features are prominently Elven. Because of this obscurity he's able to continue the in-fighting between Elves and humans endlessly. He participated in various assaults and murders from both sides so that one day both will eventually kill each other.

This might just be the best thread anyone has ever come up with, ever, in the whole history of foruming... :3

Hyperbole aside I hope this thread gets some legitimate responses and proves to be as fun for everyone as it will for me. I'll do my utmost to provide titles for the books and supplements I've sourced some the less core material from. Your half-elf fellow certainly sounds like BoVD party material, excellent usage of Cas in his bio. I hope my following character based on the image provided would make for a suitable companion for Syron/Re'vialis, though I concede your guy has a better backstory than this dude. Just out of curiosity would you have any issues if I posted pictures of monster races or other non-PHB races? I'd stick with D&D stuff obviously, I don't want to spoil your thread with my own taste for the aberrant.

Name: Rjusttoy The Repulsive

Race: Dwarf

Age: 92

Class: Divine Mind (a psionic class where the user derives their psychic abilities from the worship of a God [source: Complete Psionic])

Alignment: TN

Deity: Khostren (NE Demigod of Vermin [source: Ghostwalk])

Quotes:

"My fellow dwarves believe I resent them, despise them even. Truth is I feel little different towards my kith and kin than I do the rest of the so-called 'higher-born races'. My fellow humanoids are belaboured with the delusion that they are predestined for triumph by the merit of their self-awareness alone. Forgive me my pathos, but I can't help feeling sorry for them."

"I've always felt sympathy towards insects, creatures so casually stamped-out of existence by my clumsy brethren's boots. They do not indulge the trivialities like honour or agenda. Khostren showed me to whom I truly owe my empathy."

Bio:

Though his early life and origins are shrouded in mystery, the formidable psionicist Rjusttoy garnered his 'Repulsive' epithet due his bizarre hermeneutic practices, his avowed veneration of the vile panorpidal god Khostren, and the cause célèbre engendered by his now infamous run-ins with adventurers and power players of all moral alignments in the underworld of the city of Manifest. Believed to have been born outside the city, anecdotes and rumours gleaned from conversations with Rjusttoy suggest that he was something of a self-exiled pariah within the conservative provincialism of dwarven society, a race not exactly known for their innate tolerance of the arcane or outré. Having displayed subtle mental abilities throughout his childhood that fueled speculation that he was an individual with sorcerous or umdawi (i.e. "undwarven") blood, he found solace with his own irrepressible fascination and affection towards the many troglobitic invertebrates of underground hometown.

It's believed that as a young man he underwent some sort of epiphany and "found" the kinship of the demigod Khostren during one of his solitary wanderings in the frontiers of his hometown that border on the so-called Underdark, a subterranean realm of monstrous humanoids and arachnoid worship. Having alienated his community beyond the boundaries of their tolerance Rjusttoy bound a hasty retreat and seemingly felt compelled to migrate to the vermin-riddled sewers of Ghostwalk, where much of Khostren's divine presence and will is exercised. Having accrued no mean amount of notoriety in the city, especially amongst the criminal classes, Rjusttoy is willing to work alongside anyone who promises to improve the lot of his beloved insects or consolidate the influence of Khostren.

Most of his alliances are temporary affairs borne out of his clients awe of his psionic abilities. Humanoids tend to find their threshold for filth and decay pushed beyond acceptable bounds in his presence, as well as finding his utter amorality alien and disturbing. More monstrous allies may value his abilities in the short term, but can't reconcile his bizarre teratological values with his race.

^ She's somewhat generic I'll admit. I thought i'd give the thread a chance before I really let rip the weirdness in me.

When close friends speak ill of close friends

they pass their abuse from ear to ear

in dying whispers -

even now, when prayers are no longer prayed.

What sounds like violent coughing

turns out to be laughter.

@SelfSurprise I'm fine with any portraits. But I would tend to say they need to be expressive and have a lot to work like with the portraits I picked. I would highly suggest looking through portrait packs like the Super Ultimate Portrait Pack for Pillars of Eternity.

Monster portraits can be expressive too but this one just isn't. It's really generic, there's little to no expression in her face and there isn't any lighting to give an impression of mood. My brain immediately jumped to Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy and if you've seen that movie you know how boring of a character she is. I kept drawing blanks when trying to come up with a character for that portrait.

People need to get a feel for what they think the portrait is trying to express in terms of mood. In that case there's nothing to work with that portrait. Look at the portrait I made Syron/Re'vialis out of. The person in that portrait looks incredibly weary, tired and has quite a bit of spitefulness in his face. His face spoke to me saying "I've seen a lot of shit and I intend to cause more.". The lighting in the portrait has this reddish, muddy hue to it. There is a sense of rage and spite not only of the person's face but also of the lighting.

I'm not saying I started the fire. But I most certain poured gasoline on it.

Thats fair enough. I wasn't exactly happy with what I settled on either. Also I apologize that it's taken me so long to respond to you Helio, I haven't been able to get on the internet this week. It's a shame these threads don't get the kind of traffic they deserve. Hopefully the picture I provided for the next character has a little more personality for you! ;3
